    You bought one? So jealous.

  • Meg

I want to be cool too!!!!

Man, I never post on here but I had to delurk to say that I got to handle one at our local Apple store, and my husband had to practically drag me out of the store. I’ve said all along that I’ll give it a year to work out the kinks and be sure it lives up to the hype (well, as much as that’s possible) before buying one, but if I’d had the money last night I certainly would have changed my tune. The thing is SWEET.

Would that “holy god’s” name be Jobs? I love my iPhone, too!!! This comment was written on my iPhone.

I did not expect to purchase one. Heather wanted one, sight unseen. I picked up a demo phone, hit Google Maps and it was over. OVER.

Amazing piece of gear. I’ll be writing more about it in the next few days.

I can’t wait to hear what you think of the iPhone. I’m stuck in a contract with T-Mobile until December or I’d have my own right now. :(

Waiting with intense anticipation of your review. For some reason I give way more credit to your (eventual) review than to MSN’s or something. Or perhaps I just want to live vicariously through you. Either way, I can’t wait to see what you have to say.

Never in my life have I wanted a piece of technology like I wanted this product and OMG – I totally love it. It is beautiful and useful and because it is Apple – it really works.

    YOU GOT ONE!!!!!! YIPPEEE!!!!

Can’t wait to hear what you think.

Here’s the reasons I’m waiting for the next version– and, of course, the fact I don’t have an extra $600 right now. (sigh)

“A future version of the iPhone will use a faster network standard called 3G, and if you want a truly mobile Web, it’s best to wait.”

“The iPhone doesn’t let you copy or paste text, and, worse, it doesn’t let you select any text — which makes moving or deleting a long line quite difficult. The phone’s e-mail program does not include a search feature, so you’ve got to scroll through dozens of messages to find what you’re looking for. The contacts and calendar applications are also missing a search — but this didn’t bother me much because the iPhone failed to sync up with my computer’s names and dates. That’s because on a PC, the phone can only get contact and calendar info from Outlook, and not from Gmail or Google Calendar or any of the world’s other information management applications. (The iPhone can also only import Web bookmarks from Internet Explorer or Safari — not from Firefox.)”

I wish my wife was pestering me to buy one…

I took the plunge, too. Pretty exciting, and I have a feeling I’ll be discovering more every day. I’m finding it better to just keep it in my pocket around other people to avoid 1,000 questions.

    I. Am. Jealous.

I have to admit also to delurking. You and your wife are the reasons I haven’t lost all hope that there are still some good blogs out there.

My boyfriend and I are rabid Mac enthusiasts (he has a Powerbook and I have glorious 20″ iMac), and I’m going to save myself some embarrassment and just say that we both really, really want one. But seeing as how we’re both freshly sprung from the bosom of a California State University, neither of us can afford it.

We are both looking forward to the launch of the second generation, because hopefully by then we will have grown-up jobs and might be able to afford iPhones whilst still paying off our enormous student loans.
