I have to agree. The fact that it is somewhat out of focus actually makes it more interesting than if it were just a plain picture of the sign. The blue sky in the background really makes it pop out at you. And I have to add that on your not-so-new-anymore page design, the picture just JUMPS out at you with the colors! VERY NICE!! :-) I lust after your (and Heather’s) cameras and wish I had the $$ to get a digital SLR!

I love the Lensbaby look. Such vivid color. And the out of focus totally adds to the effect.

Fabulous photo, Jon! Makes me seriously contemplate a Lensbaby purchase with my mortgage money.

Yah, it’s in-focus-enough. There’s nothing worse though than thinking you got the shot and then finding that it’s ALMOST in focus.

Um, is this a metaphor for a “baby bump” in the family…?? Just a guess

@SD, um, no. More like a bump in my personal road.

    Nothing to do with babies.

This shot is fantastic. It made sense to me instantly, both for you and for myself; I actually had to chuckle and then sigh when I saw it. I think the very, very slight out-of-focusness makes it all the more pertinent. Because bumps in the personal road—like things that go bump in the night—are often obscured, so that you don’t see them coming until after you’ve already hit them.

Love the pics but can the same effect be duplicated in photoshop? If so, then as cool as the lensbaby looks for a few minutes of post-processing you can save yourself 250 bills.

Understood, thanks for the reply. SD

Ok, I…ok…I thought that said “lovely lesbian burns” which shouldn’t really disturb me but for some reason it did.

    Just love the colors

not to get silly on your serious photo, but have you seen the HUMP sign in Holladay? It’s on 20th East about 35th S. Like it was really printed HUMP, and was up for years, it might have been changed or else I am used to it. Good for a 2nd grader giggle.
