Not Yet Puddle Jumping

Waiting for boarding yesterday this plane was parked outside. Pretty and the mid-morning light was just right.

Then I ruined it by tweaking. That’s WHAT I DO, internet.

    Wow, that is GREEN.

  • Stacey

Thank goodness you told us you “tweaked it” I thought my moniter was F’d UP!

I was right… they DO have committees of experts working on how they can make flying a more miserable experience…

I watch a fair amount of programming on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, and some of their bumpers are photos that have a similar aesthetic quality to yours, especially in the crafting of the color adjustments. As soon as I saw my first one, I thought, “Did the Adult Swim folks lift this idea from Jon?”

It looks like the plane landed on a well-manicured golf course.

The greens says Pacific Northwest in spring to me. So does the grey sky. It also has that vibe of another time. When stewardesses (not flight attendants) lit your cigarettes, the cocktails came in glasses, and there was actually enough room between the seats to cross and uncross your legs.

When I scrolled down, I was like, who brought Archbishop Don “Magic” Juan’s plane to town?

i really like the tones in the skyline. the green is a lot green…but i like your tweaking nonetheless.

i LOVE the tweaking. it’s one of my favorite aspects of all your photos.

Just because we can doesn’t mean we should..

  • Mary

I think it looks like an older photo, too. I like.

People who are offended by green: I’ve added a couple of tags above.

    Look into it.

I think it looks like it’s about to be boarded by a D-List Swedish Rock band from 1975.

    Beträd ej gräsmattah!

I’ve bleached a lot of my black and white and color negs. So I see where you’re coming from here with the cross processing. :)

That’s the ENTIRE point of Photoshop. I’ve been ruining great photos for years now! They can deal.

    Beautiful photos:
I loved the effect of cross processed film (back in the day)
and can’t help myself to tweak my own photos.

Definately gives you your own “look”

    great stuff!

It’s OK Jon, I fixed the picture for you.

I hate that type of plane. They make me want to vomit.

  • Iris

for real…i went on a plane this size (great lakes airlines) and thought i was going to die. i was traveling from salina, ks to denver, co and we went through the worst turbulence ever! my co-worker literally starting having a panic attack! scary plane, but good picture! : )

  • nahanni

Hey Jon, I met you yesterday in Vancouver at the meet & greet. I had wanted to tell you that I really love your photography, both the pictures themselves and the processing you do to them. I’m sure there were a bunch of things I had intended to say to both of you but I was a bit flustered and the line was getting pretty long by then!

It was great to meet you both. Enjoy the rest of your time here! Hopefully the sun will come out :)

Forget the green, the plane itself looks like a butt squeaker of a ride.
