Light Ladles

Nothing says that it’s time for summer more than enjoying a late lunch outdoors. Nothing says funky like James Brown or maybe Parliament circa mid-70s. Nothing says funky lighting more than these groovy lights used to illuminate the front of a restaurant on Granville Island in Vancouver.

This photo really messes with my sense of direction, although with the treeline at the bottom it’s pretty clear. In any case I really like the photo but look at that sky! I bet you were in heaven with the sun and the blue and the clouds and all.

You know what would have made this shot more awesome? LENSBABY.
I’m actually quite proud of you for taking it off of the camera for five whole minutes.
I wonder if there is some sort of post processing you could do to give it a lensbaby vibe?

Some some reason I can’t get the image of a icecream sunday with cherries and whip cream on top out of head when look at this.

Awesome photo for the beginning of summer!

    @Torrie, don’t knock my hobbies.

Is it just my active imagination or do these lamps look like menacing robot eyes in the sky?

    Hee hee.

I’m getting booby imagery. Breasts ascending into the sky. Very Freudian.

It looks like alien eyeballs descending from an unseen spaceship above. Love the windy clouds.

nix “above.” I excel at redundance!

I like that shot. Vancouver is beautiful.

On an unrelated note, I am strangely reminded of boobies.

    … BOOBIES!

    (Yes, I’m done now.)

Love this Pic, I am too pure minded to see Boobies or Evil Robot eyes. Only beautifully composed pic with heavenly background :)

I like the colors of this picture. I also really like how the perspective isn’t that clear….like I can’t really tell if these lamps jut out horizontally from the wall and you are standing below/in front of them or what. Either way, cool angle and nice colors.

This image is really surreal. Nice one.
