Meshy Shades

Taken while waiting for Heather to decide what to buy in the cool paper/tchotchke shop on Granville Island. These curvy shades were painted one of my favorite colors. I resemble my daughter in this way: I have a lot of favorite colors.

Lol, Mr. Blurb. It could very well be that your daughter resembles you, instead.

  • Marshall

    Pantone #123. Mine too.

I expect that was in the awesomely-named PaperHaus, which is based said with a brusque Austrian accent.

You resemble your daughter in many ways. I suppose you’ve noticed that.

  • Jeanette

It is totally Pantone #123! That’s one of my brand colors here at work!!

I love this photo, I bet you get a lot of requests to purchase it.

That is a fantastic color. Looks very similar to my bedroom walls.

This photo is magnificent viewed large.

@Jennifer: It resembles the color on my bedroom walls, as well! I call it “pumpkin” but that isn’t quite right.

I have been going through an orange phase for the past several years. It seems to be a color that is too often ignored. ;) Texture is depth and gets overlooked too often. You have a good eye…maybe two…yes, in my head that was funny. ;)

You should have bought them! I think that HGTV would recommend that you buy things with color palettes that reflect your personality. But you probably don’t really care about that.

Love this picture – the perspective you bring to your photography is so unique!

It looks like what our friend calls National Airport Yellow, which isn’t a very romantic name, but it’s accurate. Yours is a tad darker and perhaps has a slight bit more red, but it’s very close (and hard to tell if that’s just my monitor). Our bedroom is this color. There’s no sleeping once the sun is up.

    Jon-
I made a comment to you at Heather’s book signing about the use of the word “ass” in your essay within her book. I mentioned that I had chosen the book to read to my toddler for his nap-time. I make odd decisions like that, reading to my son the literary works of Jon and Heather Armstrong instead of Dr. Seuss, but it sufices for Mom’s entertainment while the little one dozes off. I feel like an ass for making light of your deeply heart-felt essay. Now that I have completed your chapter I feel moved to appologize. It was not my intention to belittle or make fun or your essay. In fact, I find it to be one of the most interestingly touching pieces within the book. My Grandfather also died as a result of a brain tumor. Yesterday, I had not read that far in your chapter. I am so sorry if I offended you in any way. I appreciate the honesty and compassion which you offered in your submission. Also, I seem to get tongue tied and flustered when in the presence of your wife. I felt akward and star-struck in her presence. She’s awesome!

Ah, rescue orange. Did you know that 9 out of 10 people who count rescue orange among their favorite colors also support Bill Richardson as Obama’s choice for VP?

    Just sayin’:

Sorry to be off topic but doesn’t it kinda suck that we went from the 30′s to the 90′s in less than a week? But at least it’s not _SNOW_ anymore.

    Great picture.

Now, I saw something on your Twitter that I just had to comment on. Hillary Clinton as VP. It might sound like a great idea, but there’s just too much baggage and unnecessary drama that she would bring to the ticket. I suggest you look into someone named Jim Webb, a senator from Virginia and quite possibly the best choice Obama has.

Huge fan of your blog and your wife’s. All the best.

Doh! Bossy was just perusing your archives, and when she saw the post title “Meshy Shades” she thought it would turn out to be a comic interpretation of Messy Shades… kind of like Shweaty Balls.

    Regardless, nice Meshy Shades.
