First off, if someone from the liberal side says someone from the conservative side is ignorant one more time I think we might bailout the economy…I want a fucking dime for every time I hear this assinine argument. To say that Ayers is a respected anything is beyond disgusting. He bombed his own country. That to me spells felon. That to me spells traitor. That to me spells someone who doesn’t deserve a right to vote or to be a free citizen. He’s only walking around “turning his life around” because of a wire tapping screw up by the Feds. Otherwise, he’d be sitting in Guantanomo right now, as he should be. I’m sure you’d defend him there too, wouldn’t you? And I would think just as less of those others who support Ayers, as you put it, as I do Obama. After 9/11, I generally don’t hold much favor for ANYONE, past or present, that would act in a terrorist way towards this nation. And I watched an interview with the lovely Ayers family on 48 Hours where they BOTH said they didn’t regret it…wished they’d been MORE militant. I think it was done three years ago. Here’s a stark difference between the video Jon posted and the one I linked to. Well, not that different actually since Obama supporters are acting like the assholes they always act like. But the McCain supporters in my video are walking silently. The Obama people are yelling and cursing them with no prompting. Again, in the video Jon put up, there are those lovely, compassionate libs yelling and screaming. Of course, it only becomes “nasty” when the conservatives finally just say shut the fuck up already and fight back.

The vitriol is always from the liberal side. And personally I’m glad to see the generally restrained Republicans finally getting pissed off enough to say something about it. Hell, if we lose the election then at least we went down fighting.

And if your beloved Obama is an American citizen then why is there a lawsuit right now over this citizenship? He apparently was adopted by his step-father in Indonesia, which doesn’t allow for dual citizenship and would have automatically, via the marriage to his step-father, made his mother’s U.S. citizenship be revoked under Indonesian law. Unless Obama he got unadopted, then there is no way he could be a U.S. citizen unless he was naturalized, which he wasn’t. That bit of a technicality would make him ineligible for running for the presidency. But I’m sure, like with everything else regarding Obama’s past, it’s been conveniently taken care of. Of course, it will probably not make it through the courts, since the DNC keeps trying to stop it, until after the election. Hope you really like Biden because it may turn out Obama wasn’t even supposed to be able to hold office to begin with.

Lastly, three points.

Which sounds worse? Well, let’s see…BOTH. That was my point Jon. Dooce put this in her Twitter as if to say, “Oh, please let us pray that the Democrats save us from this horrible kind of behavior.” For lack of a better phrase, again, give me a break. I am fed up. True. I am tired of the biases from BOTH sides. I’ve listened to months of ranting liberals and chants of Obama saving us all. Hell, I think someone before even said that…usher us into no war, less fear, blah, blah. He is but a man. He is but an inexperienced man. He isn’t change for the better. He’s just another man in the White House. We haven’t had a great man in the White House since he was shot decades ago. Yes, liberals, one of my greatest hereos is Kennedy…always has been, always will be. But today’s liberal Democrats are a far cry from Kennedy. He’d be ashamed of associating with most of the party today.

I’ve been a follower of politics in my entire life. I’ve worked and volunteered in politics. I’ve been a journalist. This ain’t my first pony ride. I’m probably a bit older than most of you commenting. If you just simply take a look at where this country has come from since WWII you will see a marked decline in what we are as a nation and a people. It started with the Great Depression and is, unfortunately coming full circle. That period in American history was awful and caused the government to do things arbitrarily to save us. The programs of social welfare back then are today’s bailout and entitlements. No one ever really assumed they would be permanent. But they are. And decade after decade since that time, instead of figuring out a better way, we just keep adding to it.

Obama’s economic policy calls for all kinds of tax credits (another word for welfare). For the 45 percent of Americans (easily checked anywhere on the web, that number I mean) that don’t pay a dime in income taxes, that would mean they get money…a check from the government, a subsidy. Who here among you is ok with that? Seriously, and give me cause. I’m not. These people already don’t pay taxes at all. Why do they deserve money from those of us who do? But what Barack doesn’t explain is that to get those credits they will need to actually file out an income tax form to receive those credits. More paperwork, more bureacracy and more a likelihood they won’t even fill out the forms to begin with and receive any money at all. All just a semantical ploy to appease those who want to help the less fortunate…to make this great change. It’s not a change people, it’s a continuation.

Obama says he’ll let the Bush tax cuts expire when he takes office. Ok then, won’t that technically raise taxes for a huge percentage of people…those in the special group he’s targeting, the middle class. HE won’t raise their taxes, he’ll just let Bush’s ghost do it for him.

For all the wonderful social programs Obama promises…that lovely governmental run health care you all are so excited over (don’t get me started since my husband is a doctor), how will he be able to fund that much (I think the number is $800 billion) by only taxing those who make over $250,000? There are plenty of economic sites where you can see the numbers crunched and it simply doesn’t add up. He can’t possibly do what he says he wants to and SAVE the economy on taxing the “rich”. I’d love to see you ask someone making 250K in New York if they’re rich…go ahead, find some New Yorker and ask them if they want their taxes raised. If they do, then they must be thinking of leaving New York and moving, well, probably to Tennessee. We have tons of New Yorkers and Californians already flocking here because we are one of only TWO states in the union without a state income tax. I LOVE Tennessee.

My point is, while you say I haven’t tried to consider Obama, I think most of you simply won’t consider McCain because of some blind allegiance to either your party or this man. Don’t give me the whole mushy crap about wanting to make the world a better place. There are concrete and necessary reasons as to why every person would want either candidate. It can’t just be about “I wanna change the world”. The world is a hard, tough place. I look at Obama and I don’t see him wanting to help anyone other than himself. Does not one of you not see the egotism of this man? I see it in Bush, easily. Don’t like him for that. I see it in Obama too. Not so much in McCain. He’s just an ole vet whose having more of a hard time showing his ferocity.

I truly feel, and I hope I am wrong, believe me I do, that those who support Obama now will get a real wake up call in a few months. I wonder if you all will still be so fierce in your support then. Hell, even I have thought about not voting for McCain simply because he pissed me off voting for that damn bailout. But then I would give my vote away, and I can’t vote Obama. So, I’ve made my choice…the best I’ve got unfortunately.

So, in closing…

I love reading Jon and Heather’s blogs. I wish they’d go back to what they used to write. But until they do, I enjoy debating a bit with Jon. I don’t address anyone other than him when I comment, until I get spoken to directly in comments. I’m sure he gets rather annoyed by my comments. But I honestly think he’s a bright man and has a good ability to barb back and forth with some humility and understanding. I saw how he broached the cross photo deal yesterday…much like I would have probably. I will always be drawn to intelligent people with good taste in music and movies.
