At least McCain is telling people to knock off the personal attacks and death threats. Republicans, you aren’t looking good. You look scared and ignorant.

Anyway, I’m sorry that it snowed in Utah.

Blurb, I have actually really enjoyed that facts and comments that you have been posting about your feeling and thoughts on this election. I have enjoyed reading yours and many others articles on the election so that I am able to make an educated decision on who I want to vote for. Now, unfortunately the state that we live in it will not make that much of a difference. Now, on the upside of that. I do think we are going to see a larger number of people voting democratic then this state has seen ever before. I personally hope this will make people look at the state of UT and realize that we are becoming less and less of a republican state. I also agree that for me and my family this is one of the most critical elections that I have ever voted in. There are so many critical issues that need to be quickly addressed or we are going to once again be in a great depression.

I have personally been surprised that Heather has not written more about her thoughts about this election. That being said, I do know that she is concerned about upsetting her family. I have had to deal with he same issue with my family as they are very strong republicans. I also to have had to be careful about what I say in regards to the election around my family. A weeks ago I spoke up about my feeling in regards to Obama and McCain and I was looked at by my entire family as if I had 3 heads. My family was shocked that I was not all gushy about Palin because, “she is going to fight for special needs children and you have three of them.” I laughed and responded with. It will not matter if we can’t fix the problems with the economy and raising federal deficit. As I told my family. When we are in a financial crisis like we are in, it is more about being about to keep my house and feed my children. When things where more financially stable. I was interested in be having program and supports for my special needs children. After, the last special session the funding to help my children was reduced. So now the money that I had for food and housing is now having to go to medical bills and services that are no longer being paid for for my special needs children. It doesn’t matter how much someone is supposedly going to fight for special needs children if there is not money for funding to pay for the programs that is “thinks” she is going to create.

I know you and Heather struggle with the need of having to pay for your Health insurance. Sense, my divorce I have also had to pay for Health insurance out of my pocket. So, this is an issue that I am very interested in and at this point I like the ideas that Obama has more then I like McCain solution to my problem.

Jon, I hope you, Heather and Leta have a nice Sunday.

They are total chickenshits in my mind now — sorry ass Republican morons out stealing Obama signs from people’s yards is an all new low!

Nothing pisses me off more than people not being able to show their support, for whomever it may be, on their own property in a respectful manner.

My “Veterans for Obama” sign is now a thing of the past because someone is scared shitless that he’s going to get elected. Well I hate to tell you people, doing this stupid crap is nothing short of reinforcing the base that is going to vote for him. You’re just simply making us fighting mad!

Tonight a new sign will appear in my front yard — a home made sign statiing
“This family is voting for Obama but the chickenshit Republicans stole my sign!”

On an aside.…..the “I love her” lips signs are tacky as all hell!

    Kari-Mel…

It’s pretty obvious that is happening on both sides.

    here
    here
    here

It wouldn’t take long to find many more reports of sign stealing incidents.

I’m disgusted with both sides of the election and will be happy when this is over.

And yes, the lips signs are really obnoxious.

Well there has never been a worse time to call yourself a republican in my opinion. Then again I am not sure it is a good time to be involved in politics the people just want a change so they will vote for whatever gets them just a little closer. It comes down to a lot of people voting for the lesser of an asshole or not voting at all. The whole thing is old and dated and needs to be overhauled.

    Democracy is dying.

I’m sad. Not because of the election–Obama is going to win and I have been supporting him since he announced he was going to run.

No, I’m said for my country, America. I have never seen such openly expressed hate and anger as I have seen in recent weeks from McCain-Palin supporters. It’s reminiscent of Germany during its economic collapse when Hitler rose to power by channeling the same kind of hate and anger into a killing machine.

How can McCain supporters, like faydean, actually defend people who scream out “He’s a terrorist” and “Kill him” (referring to Obama) at rallies when even McCain condemns those statements??? How can the people who are standing in line at the McCain rally in the video even say that it was the “poor people” who created our economic collapse???

I think a previous poster has it right–it all comes down to “I can’t stand having a black man as president because blacks are lower than I am and, therefore, what does that make me if a black cman becomes president? Are black people not a lower form of human that I am? If they’re not, then how do I now make myself feel better about myself if I can’t just blame all my problems on the blacks (and the hispanics).

Ignorant white people are the ones causing many of our country’s problems. They elected Bush and as Stephen Colbert said, ” The last 8 years have been a shitburger”. And now they want to elect McCain and get more of the same.

    I am sad.

  • Kari-Mel

I couldn’t agree with you more southerngirl!

I don’t think voting for Obama is me trying to make history (for any reason whatsoever) — I think it’s me trying to make sure history (of the last 8 years) doesn’t repeat itself!

Black, white, whatever — Obama is giving us clearer and more respectful answers to our questions, hope that not just those who make much more money that we’ll ever hope to can see a brighter tomorrow, and a sense of light at the end of the tunnel. The other ticket is hate mongering and I find it vile and offensive to think that’s how our politicians feel they have to reach out to us. Sad really. Very, very sad!

I was willing to listen to both sides, until one stopped saying anything worth listening to! That’s where they are losing — and at this point — more power to them in all this losing! I hope they don’t wise up at this point!
