wow! you are getting some great shots out of the G9. I ended up getting one myself, as a point and shoot to have with me all the time. do you shoot in RAW? are you processing these in lightroom? just curious as to whether/how working with these photos differs for you from working with photos from your DSLR.

@mnmnj, I do shoot RAW with it and use Lightroom 2 or Aperture 2 to tweak and export.

Not really a major difference in workflow, just that there are times when the smaller sensor and lens shows its weaknesses compared to the 5D with a pro lens. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how far I can push the output. Shooting RAW is the only way to go and for the most part, the only way I’ve shot for > two years.

And thanks for the kind words.

Great shot! Makes me wonder what’s through that doorway as well! I love these photos you took on your recent trip! The textures are terrific!

Sure, you do some “nice” stuff. Some “sweet” stuff. But thizun’s a tour de force and it really works for me. I’m a sucker for architectural features, but the unusual character and texture here, the pushed colors, plus the broken lamp, plus the suggestion of the movie marquis inside (flopped?) adds up, and I have to chime in like a fanboy. This time, Nice, without the quotes.
