Plowing Through

Our little Coco gleefully showing her love of snow.

This is what my face looks like (in human form) when snowboarding on a powder day, even though riding in powder is extremely exhausting.

I want to get some video this year, but I haven’t been able to get the dogs in full nature mode or in the right light. I want to get slow motion playing and that’s going to be a challenge, given that the novelty of Coco has worn off for Chuck. He still messes with her and is faster in the long sprints, but she’s faster out of the gate.

So far, this January isn’t as brutally cold, snowy or miserable as last year. And I’m not even counting the awesome snow thrower in the mix when I say that.

Dude, my kingdom for a snow thrower. We have been getting pounded over here in the Boston area … and I’m the only snow thrower on the premises. Can I borrow yours?

HAHA she looks like a maniac! Riley is a little more bouncy, like a jackrabbit.

I like the explosion of snow caught in time…

The big storm front just missed Pittsburgh.. We got lucky, but I did end up digging out a little bit on Saturday, but it was mostly ice…

The joy on Coco’s face is unmistakeable. She’s, literally, a bounder of adventure.

    Incredible photo Jon. Good work!

I love your photos, Jon. I see you’re using a Canon EOS, but am I correct in remembering that Heather uses a Nikkon? I just got a d60, and I need a recommendation on a good lens to upgrade from the standard. Have any suggestions?

We switched to Canon in 2006 and haven’t looked back. That’s not to say that the Nikon was a slouchy camera, just that we like the Canon lens line.

Everybody should have a 50mm lens in their quiver. Doesn’t matter who makes your camera, get one. They are relatively inexpensive and you won’t regret the purchase once you see the results.
