Charging Up

With a newborn comes increased coffee consumption. Since it’s summer, this is the iced variant. It’s really good if you let the raw sugar dissolve in the brewing cup before you pour it over ice. The skim milk patterns are really awesome and when you’re working on no sleep or maybe 1.78 hours of sleep, the patterns can help you drift.

Ahhh, newborns. I remember those days. Enjoy her and Leta as much as you can, even when you’re sleep deprived :) They are precious.

Great shot, Jon. Congrats on the new addition.

I think I’m a little more alert just from looking at this picture.

If you want to make it more complicated, try this recipe:

You have to devote some time to it, though, apparently.

    Caffeine, the breakfast of champions!

You guys are doing great. Certainly better than I did with a little one at that stage. Enjoy those simple things where ever you can.

Oh man, I love this. I love drifting to the sight of cream (but it has to be cream or half-&-half or at the very least whole milk, none of that skim-milk-ness) dissolving in coffee. Something about it is so tantalizing and soothing.

So, right now I have a four year old and a five month old and I can tell you that coffee has never been as important to my existence as it is right now! Unfortunately my newborn son doesn’t think it’s a good idea to sleep through the night yet, while my daughter has an internal alarm clock set for the exact same time every morning no matter how much I beg “the world” to have her sleep in…coffee is the only way!
