Ya know DJ, you’ve got a great low-noise camera and ready access to a dark sky, have you considered astrophotography as a hobby?

    Hi Jon,

I enjoy your photos very much, as well your political information, and your writing about your family. The things you and Heather have shared have been very helpful to me in dealing with depression in my family.

Now that I have sucked up, sinncere though it may be, I do have a selfish request.

I notice with your photos you include nerd information. I am technologically disinclined, and am actually excited I figured out how to post this. So, here is my request. Is there such a thing as a point and shoot type digital camera that non technophiles like myself could handle, and if so could/would you recommend one?

    Many thanks,
    Kristin

Great photo, Jon. I’m just starting to get into photography … so seeing your photos are always an inspiration.

Can I ask you what type of lenses do you usually use? What’s your go to for outdoors vs. indoors?

We just recently purchased a Nikon D90 and only have the 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens it came with. We’re taking an upcoming trip to Europe and are looking to upgrade. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Jerry

    Hi Jon,

I’ve been reading Heather for a while now, but I really enjoy your blog too. I love your photography and this is another shining example. I am just a beginner, a MWAC if you will. In any case I always draw inspiration from your photos and enjoy your political commentary. A nice summation of what I am missing a continent away. Thanks.
