Love this photo. I recently got a Lensbaby and am still figuring out how to get the most out of it. Seeing shots like makes me want to get out there and do more.

Jon, if you would ever be up for posting about the non-technical, more logistical methods and equipment you and Heather use in your photography, I’d love to read it. I haven’t yet found a good way to schlep my camera & lenses along when I go on day trips — whether hiking in the mountains or walking around the city, I find the various camera bags I’ve tried to be really annoying and not at all user-friendly. And if I want to use a tripod, that complicates things further. Surely there’s some great camera bag out there you don’t have to physically remove from your body and put your camera down in the process of getting in to it while also letting you hike and/or navigate public transportation easily, depending on where you are.

Do you make tough choices about which lens(es) you take with you when you leave to go out? If you’re just out for a few hours for the purpose of taking pictures, do you even bother with a bag? What do you do when traveling and in a new city, taking tourist-y type photos (Amsterdam, New York?)

I wonder if I should just pick one lens for the day and leave the others at home, or if there is some way taking some choices with me without having the burden of a cumbersome bag. For short outings, it’s not a big deal, but I love heading out in the morning and not coming back until late, just taking pictures the whole time.

Anyhow, if you have any advice based on your experiences, I’d love to hear about it.
