Dear Mr. Blurb – fine re-write of the site. If you need to deploy more load balancers, I worked on the Barracuda Networks offerings a year ago. They are relatively low-cost, garden variety – but functional … just a heads-up.
I am no longer employed there, having moved onto an electric vehicle charging infrastructure start-up – woo hoo.

I kid.

We did it to use things like Facebook Connect, to have the ability to be sign in at community.dooce.com and still be logged in on dooce.com (which you have to do for comments). So one user account gets you access to participate in the community site and use that same login on dooce.com when you leave comments.

Me too, but I swap out the PHP for Python. And I’m still just learning.
