These are the shovels that were used to break gound last week on the new wing of the Neuropsychiatric Hospital at the University of Utah. Heather spoke at the event and, my personal bias aside, knocked it out of the park rhetorically speaking. When Heather speaks about mental health, it’s really powerful to see a woman transformed by medicine and science. Without the cocktail that Heather takes, I doubt she would have triumphed over her post-partum depression. I’ll admit, I got choked up during her speech.

Picture exudes hope and possibility. Would love to see text/video of Heather’s talk.

That you and Heather are so open about how depression and mental health–and thus health care–issues affect your relationship and family is one of the things I admire most about you both. I’m glad you guys are in a good place now–figuratively and literally, as your new home looks/sounds just perfect for you. :)

I don’t know why, but I’m always so surprised/impressed when you write about Heather overcoming PPD- you are so supportive of her; it’s pretty rare for a woman to receive that kind of admiration from their partner. I think that what the two of you have done for the mental health community, especially with PPD, is just amazing. Y’all are just so freaking cute!

And I would also really like to read the transcripts!
