Very apt portrayal of the current situation in America.  Sadly, we have no voter IQ standards ( can’t — that would effectively disenfranchise the Republican Party base) nor do we have any standards, other than a minimum age and residency, for politicians.  Hence the current situation.

Hey, good to see you here, friend.   Isn’t this cartoon the perfect visual for our current state of the state?

Meanwhile, the GOP is back at it ensuring there is no voter fraud (well, that’s their story and they are sticking to it) so bring on the driver’s licenses folks…oh, they closed the local DMV, you say?

Yeah,  can’t make up some of this stuff.

Why anyone continues to vote for the GOP is the real brain teaser.

Looks like a libtards view of DC from here.

Understandable, if one has no grasp of reality.

Will be interested to hear your thoughts on the ‘deal’ that’s been struck. In the meantime, I read this article and thought of this debate :) Not sure what to think, being in the UK we’ve had a lot of coverage of it but not enough of a ‘summing up’ that I’ve seen so far.  http://t.co/HPpfSc5

Ah, even more interesting — according to our Telegraph here in the UK, they reckon Obama’s won the centre ground with the Republicans shooting themselves in the foot (and a side point about Palin looking irrelevant). See what you think, some interesting points there anyway: http://tgr.ph/rfdizr

I don’t disagree about cost containment and cutting waste. You lose me on the rest of it. The numbers, which some would call facts (my history in debating this with Tea Partiers shows a lack of willingness on the part of the Tea Party to accept reality as fact; seems like theTea Party resides in an alternate reality of their own creation) indicate that when the wealthy is taxed at a higher rate, society does better.

Make no mistake, wealth re-distribution is happening right now. It has been happening for the last 30 years. The wealth is moving away from the middle class to the very wealthiest class. The Tea Party is very beholden to the Koch ideological teat in a way that liberals are not with their wealthiest members.

Europeans are happier and healthier than citizens of the US. I have figures, charts and reports that verify my claims. I’d love it if for once, a Tea Party member would share non-partisan data backing up their claims. I’m not holding my breath.
