Behind the scenes at an Apple event

More stoked to find out what Apple is going to lay out today than I thought I would be. I’m hoping for a better camera on a new iPhone. I held off getting the iPhone 4 because I was fine with my previous phone. Until I started seeing images shot with the iPhone 4. Given how much of my photography is done on the phone, I’m anxious to have a faster processor (Hipstamatic takes a long time to render if I shot at the highest resolution; decim8 does as well) and to see what the optics do. I’ll hold off until I’m blown away. The rumors are crazy. Which is why when I caught this in my email this morning, I had to share:

    The 4S looks amazing, camera-wise. But I’m very disappointed that the case is the same. I was looking forward to a more comfortable and durable design. Guess I might have to wait for the 5. Maybe.

    Loving the Siri, and the camera looks great. I have a Droid from before Verizon had iPhones, and I’m ready to chuck it out the window. A little disappointed that there’s no case change, but I’m ready to go for the 4S and will pre-order it on Friday. The question is, how much memory? Spotify has most of my music catalog, so do I really need the 64GB to hold all of my music locally?

    I wasn’t going to upgrade to the 3GS, either, but once I played with it at the store? Done.

    For me, it’s all about the camera. It’s by far the most used part of my current phone and the only compelling reason to upgrade from the 3GS. 

    Siri looks really cool, but I want to hear real-world reports before I jump up and down. And I want to see real world photos before I plunk down the cash.

    I’ve got a case on my iPhone 4 and I’ve dropped it any number of ways including many many drops on concrete. Haven’t had a problem so far. Just get a really good case. :-)
