    Gorgeous. Gorgeous. Gorgeous.

    Yow.

  2. Judy says:

I have to say my favorite part of this photo is the tops of the trees against the gray gray sky.

  3. Carrie says:

Wow. The way you captured the sky is incredible!

Oh and thank for helping my husband pick out my new camera! We love the D70!

  4. Ryan says:

That same road must be very spooky at night. =)

  5. Laura says:

Ooooh! How middle-aged am I that I thought “that would make a great puzzle.” Beautiful.

  6. Emily says:

Lovely. Very ominous sky. This is a nice counterpart to the dooce photo of the other day.

  7. jon. don’t you see it’s about to rain??? get thyself indoors.

    ps- its purdy and spooky!!!

  8. The Writer says:

Looks astoundingly like the backyard back home. Brilliant!

  9. Christi Lee says:

    pretty fucking beautiful.

  10. Chloe says:

That is amazing– but the trees in this picture are shockingly similar to the one in Dooce’s last daily picture! *gasp* You didn’t finally have a nice weekend all to yourselves, did you? But wow. What a view.

  11. Christi Lee says:

“Brain tumor diagnosis, treatment, support groups, news and more. Public Service Ads by Google”

    uh huh.

  12. Kim says:

Sold. You just sold a camera to me….. You should get a commission!! I’m now saving up for that camera (even though I realize that your particular talent doesn’t come with it!!!)

    Beautiful!

  13. beachgal says:

Woah! Awesome….and Laura, I also thought that it would be or looked like a really cool puzzle…does that mean I’m getting old, too? Yikes!

Glad you guys seemed to have a great weekend. Here’s to many many more!

Gandalf says to stay off The Road.

    Wonderful photo.

  15. Viktor says:

There is a weird, surreal visual texture to that photo. It almost looks painted instead of real. And this isn’t meant as an insult at all, I swear, but at first glance, it looks just like a Bob Ross painting. Only…those are NOT ‘happy little clouds’. He must’ve had a bender the night before after taking a bad hit.

  16. Captain Howdy says:

“The Darkside is always there waiting for us to enter; waiting to enter us. Until next time, try to enjoy the daylight.”

  17. Andrea says:

…take me home, to the place I belong…

Sorry, couldn’t help myself! Gorgeous picture, and it makes me wonder if some of Heather’s pictures show up on your site and vice versa? :) Not that I care, I love lookin’ at ‘em.

And I think it would make an *awesome* puzzle. If that makes me old at almost 34, so be it!

  18. dr. dave says:

Whoa. Fall!! Who knew? I mean, it’s getting dark earlier and earlier, but the freakin’ FLOWERS are still blooming down here in Alabama. It’s weird. Thanks for reminding me about “seasons”.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood…

    Gorgeous.

  20. jen says:

    What a striking photo….gorgeous!!

  21. kath says:

Are you sure you live in UTAH? I swear I walked down that road a few days ago, right here in Podunk, Maine. Anyway, excellent photo — really draws you in.

  22. Chris says:

Beautiful photo! I also liked Heather’s pic of the forest. Looks like it was a great place for a getaway!

  23. motosmom says:

That’s an awesome picture. It’s weird because that sky doesn’t look like it could provide the light that is casting those shadows. so the piture looks a bit surreal.
this pic and dooce’s version look like they could be made into those retro 70’s photo wall murals. :-)
