Product Placement

March 19th, 2005

This is what happens when the lady is gone. I record shows like Carpocalypse. And after I bathed Leta and read her cute stories and tucked her in to bed, I watched this show while drinking bourbon. George, if you’re out there, you need to study up on this show so that next time we play Eve of Destruction on Xbox, you have a fighting chance.

On the show, one of the dudes gets wasted. We don’t know if he’s gonna make the race. When asked, he mentions that he drank half a bottle of Crown Royal. I didn’t think anything about this mention. It wasn’t like when Rocco suddenly mentioned that he’d need a line of credit… from his show’s major sponsor. About two-thirds the way through, there is an ad for Crown fucking Royal. They sponsor a NASCAR vehicle. Lordy. That’s some sweet marketing genius, right there.

OK. Refresh your browser (hold down the shift and/or control key and click the refresh button in your browser). I’ve done some remodeling. I have no idea if it works on PCs or other browsers, so if it looks totally jacked, either I’ve made a huge design misstep or my code is ganked. Send all complaints to asscrack@trolls.com. o

Weird. It changed when I was looking at it. Works fine on PC XP platform. I like the colors.

Except the ‘A’ in “Archive” and the ‘W’ in “Whores” are a bit wonky…

Have you changed the main “blurbomat” logo? Because suddenly the dropped “L” causes my brain to read it as “bjurbomat”. Not that there is anything wrong with that. In fact, I LOVE my “Bjurb¯mat” coffee table from Ikea.

Everything else looks a.o.k . (Dave/Mac/Safari/ tiny 12″ laptop screen)

We’re using Safari, latest version, and I’m getting funked up overlap near the top. The “About” and “Archives” et al. section is under the entry itself…

Sorry. Maybe it’s just me. (And it usually is)

Opera/Win32: Looks good. Just some minor problem: The shadow around the footer box doesn’t mach exactly the shadow of the header and content box. The changeover is somehow broken.

Firefox/Win32: The search button is out of place but everything else is ok. Ohh, there is a weird turquoise line in the middle of the header (maybe part of the broken search form).

Looks fine in Firefox on OSX, Safari looks wrong. Links and the search box are not in the gray stripe where Firefox puts them. They overlap with the first post.

Looks nice, both on IE on my PC and Safari on my Mac. I think it looks great. However, like Dr. Dave, the dropped ‘l’ makes me see “Bjurbomat” as well.

    Really freaky on my brain.

Diggin’ the redesign. Though, yeah, I think the deal is that having your logo over the dropped L makes it look like the logo is dotting something. I kind of see Biurbomat.

Looks great in IE (not my computer, I swear)winxp.

Ive just set my site up using MT. I’ve nevered used css before, can you recommend any sites for learning it?

    thanks.

mmm, I like bjurbomat. Very perty. IE on win98.

Also wanted to say, your site always loads quickly for me, and because my computer is all about the waiting and waiting, it’s very refreshing, so to speak.

I’ve seen some pretty creepy product placement lately too. On Arrested Development last week everyone kept on going to Burger King, acting like it was the bestest place to eat ever. Of course there were Burger King ads too.

    Me Likey!

Poor lonely Dad, nothing to do but redesign the ‘ol website. Design looks good in firefox, but no drop shadow in IE. As if anyone really cares…
