The Haunted Barracks

March 23rd, 2005

June, 1998 35mm cross processed.

These felt so spooky, all desaturated and freaked. The movie The Right Stuff chronicled places like this; desert old and run down.

I know there are scan lines across the top. I liked them, so I left them in.

What is “Crossed Processed”? Do you need a darkroom to do it or Photoshop?

    Dammit….Cross Processed.

Meant to tell you how much I like the new B’mat design… the old one was a little short, but this is great. Looks very pro.

I know what you mean – I just finished watching The Right Stuff on Sunday.

    Great photo.

Those buildings make me think of the Japanese Internment Camp in an old movie I saw long ago.
There are probably many ghosts present.

This series of photos in addition to Heather’s finger lickin icons makes me think you two might just be able to do photo justice to Gilgal Gardens (between 700 and 800 East on 500 South.) It is an amazing place if you haven’t been, all mid-century post apocalyptic mormon/egyptian/mason crazy ass sculpture garden.

I second the awesome redesign comment. And the pictures recently have been gorgeous as well.

The Brady Bunch filmed their best mini series there. Remember how they got locked in jail and they all had to take off their belts and whatnot to fish the keys off the wall.

I remember hoping Marsha’s pants would fall down.

I stared at this picture without blinking to see if my eyes would blur enough to make it look like little ghosts were coming out of the ghosty houses. Mummy, save me. I have scared myself.
