Local Dive

I’ve never actually been in. The dudes outside looked like they were uncomfortable with my camera, even though I wasn’t pointing it at them. It didn’t help that we were racing the clock (didn’t want to keep the babysitter up too late) and I was standing in the middle of the street for most of the shots.
Also, for the photo nerds, I’m including more information on the shots. Well, I’m going to try to include more information. I don’t personally rely on numbers when I shoot. It’s more emotional and flowy and new agey, with the crystals and the synth washes and the chakras. I point my camera. I shoot. Done. I might do a half click on the shutter release to see what my shutter speed is going to be to help me know if I need to hold my breath or not. So. You have your numbers. Me, I’m more of a seat of the pants photographer.

I find things done by the seat of your pants are the best.

I used to live down the street from this bar. I ventured in once for a beer that was larger than my head. the fact that I had to use two hands to lift the glass to my mouth impressed the hell out of me. we lasted for one round there and then ran away to another bar and drank with people who had more than a passing acquaintance with bathing.

I totally do that holding of the breath thing.

Doesn’t the D70 automatically “stamp” each photo with exposure info?

I love the extra info. Cool picture! I’m very envious of your D70.

Ah, but the best photographers are all seat of the pants photographers.

Smoking! Hey, whatever works for you. I love the eeriness of that shot. Beautiful.

I have been in there. They offer 2 beers Bud and Bud Light, that is it.

Hey, I used to go to BarX after work. I worked just down the street several years ago. It was a fantastic smokey dive to hang out at.
The dudes just thought you were the cops.

your photos are not only purty, but educational, too! my daughter (2.5 y.o.) just sat here and pointed to each of the letters in the above photo, naming them gleefully.
and then she commented “sparkly!”
i think you have a fan.

That brings back memories. As a college student in Salt Lake, I had my first kiss with the love of my life. God, that was 14 years ago.
