Caught this off of the AdFreak blog (sponsored by Adweek).
Salt Lake City is one below New York City! The list explains sooooo much. o

i’m from philly. we’re number 1!!
Sad Cities for Dudes would be a great band name.
Gotcha beat in “The Lou” at #4.
Anti-depressant sales as a measure of depression?Maybe not the most scientific study ever done… I wonder if maybe the folks in Texas just can’t afford meds, or if they just don’t go in for none o’ that ther-uh-pee.
Good luck with the new whore!

I live in NY city. I can’t imagine being happy in Texas.
I went off my meds a year ago when I moved to Phoenix from Portland…who could live in this much sunshine & not be happy?
I agree, it’s not a very scientific!
Well of course Wichita, KS comes in at a happy 18. We finally caught the BTK serial killer…only took us 30 years…
Hmmm, Texas has the happiest cities. I guess ignorance IS bliss.
Why isn’t Austin up there? I’m pretty happy here.
Wow, we’re 12 happiest for dudes…must be the booze.
Wow. My city’s number 11. Shocker.
Was the number of anti-depressant sales compared to the population? Because New York city might just have a really high number because it has a large population or something.
From what I hear, the happiest cities in Texas happen to sit on a geologic anomaly– A giant underground dome of lithium.
Texas is the happiest and the fattest. Exactly.
I am halfway between Buffalo and NYC. Must make SYR manic depressive.
Wichita’s #18 on the happiest??? I think it’s more that nobody is admitting to their depression!
And juli–were they interviewing the journalists? Because they’re all excited that BTK plead not guilty. Now there will be a trial and more media stauration! Yay!
New Yorkers aren’t depressed–we’re just neurotic and self-absorbed and assume we need meds. Haven’t you kids learned anything from Woody Allen?
Texans are not smart enough to know they should be depressed. Texans; Don’t get mad y’all. I have been to El Paso and i am still recovering.
(Now Austin on the other hand)
There must be something in the water if Texas has 3 cities so high on the list. That just makes no sense.
And Detroit…full of sad, sad bastards.
Actually I’ve heard El Paso has one of the highest rates of natural lithium in the water - the suicide rate there has been among the lowest in the country for decades.
