New Mac Tower

Peering inside the aluminum ball: Woodcrest, Conroe, and the “pro” Macs

As much as I love my laptop, the tower is where the serious work gets done. The G5 is almost three years old and the rumor mill is winding up to predict what Apple will next release using Intel processers.

Ars Technica speculates as only they can about the next Mac tower. o

by the way, i think their predictions are going to be fairly accurate.

Intel has the new Dual Core2 Chip coming out. It will be Intel’s fisrt 64 bit chip. I would hold off and wait for that.

My gosh, that speculation was boring. Welcome to the watch-paint-dry world of Intel. All Apple needs to do is grab a stock Intel motherboard and add FireWire???

Apple has been doing their own motherboard design for nearly 30 years. Intel setup a special Apple group internally and Intel execs has been dropping hints for months that Apple has been pushing them like no other OEM ever has.

I’m hoping for something truly special and I don’t just mean the new case. And then there’s Leopard….

WWDC is going to be great this year.

(Has it really been three years? )

reading this reminds me of reading sports writers’ predictions of march madness.

all guesswork. even educated guesswork doesn’t ensure accuracy.
