The New Republic blog The Plank has a post about how Karl Rove extorted urged Rep. Foley (R) to stay in Congress another two years.
Republicans try to blame Clinton, fail, then desparately bring up Ted Kennedy, fail and ultimately will have to look in the mirror at some point.
Important to note: The GOP IS IN CONTROL IN WASHINGTON D.C. This happened on their watch. How can the GOP claim any sort of moral anything?

And our own crap weasel, Orrin Hatch says that even though Hastert and the GOP leadership KNEW about the Foley stuff, they didn’t want to appear homophobic. (!!) Yes, these same non-homophobic gentles that passed the Defense of Marriage Act, because “we can’t have the gheys getting hitched up, like the straights do!” didn’t want to appear homophobic. What-EVER!

I have no tolerance for those who refuse to take responsibility for their own actions. Is blame-placing a skill that is taught to all politicians?
The Rove connection is an important development (and my fave currently!) because it puts Foleygate square in the White House. Just think what Rove’s Rolodex must look like, with an extortable transgression, relationship, vote, or debt–anything that looked bad, with the quid pro quo exacted by Rove. And you know those entries had to be the gifts that kept on giving for Rove.
No wonder all this administration could do was to lose gazillions of dollars into the Halliburton maw. They were too busy playing God’s Little Acre to do any business.
Well you know what happens when you tolerate the gays! Then they’ll want to marry their dogs and other such crazy things! Pandemonium!! Chaos!! The sanctity of marriage ruined…because 50% of us straightees don’t get divorced or anything…
And how INSULTING to all gay people to have pedophilia equated with homosexuality. Talk about revolting.

I’m still trying to get my head around the fact that it was Chris Shays that made the Kennedy crack. I always thought of Shays as one of the good guys. I guess I was wrong on that.

The “victim” thing is one of the more annoying GOP traits.
They are in charge of everyhting, but they still claim to be victims. After all, we keep hearing from the GOP that “they” want to subvert the christian nature of America.
They?
The only “they” in Washington DC right now is the GOP. Are they out to get themselves? Of course, judging by the news of the last 6 months, perhaps the Republicans really are out to get themselves. It would explain a lot.
And another thing… if the Dems can’t win at least one house of congress, in this atmosphere, they should really stop being a political party. If they can’t win now, they never will.
