New Toy
December 4th, 2006I couldn’t resist. My inner child was screaming at me in a tone that both Paul Lynde and Liberace couldn’t match:

And finally, the last among dozens:

Photo Booth is pretty fun. Leta is terrified of it. Which means I’ve got one up on her. o

My favorite is the first one. Very Martian, very cool.

I wish this was available for Windows. It’s awesome.

Okay. *sigh* The ones with the glasses are kinda cool, but the first one…it creeps me out. I’ve titled yours and Heather’s “His and Her’s Disturbing.”

Nice! Get the beta version of Parallels that came out last week. It lets you virtually run the OS on a boot camp partition, and it’s everything I hoped and dreamed it would be.
(That is, unless the new toy is an iSight camera to connect to your iBook, and not a MacBook.)

iSight scares my daughter too.
She is considerably ( I spell horribly, please accept my apology) younger than Leta, but we scared the bejeebies out of her with iSight.
Our macs are old, but my sister in law just bought one this summer…complete with iSight. Over Labor Day weekend I think most of our time was spent with that camera. Also, since this was before I discovered how much I needed to be on antidepressants, it was the first time my baby had really heard me laugh. We were laughing so hard it scared her. My mother in law had to take her to another part of the cottage to calm her down.
Good times.

The second one needs to be turned into one of those things you put on a Lite Brite. Except that little kids might be scared to pieces by it.
I like the one where you hold your glasses out, and can see your “normal” face inside the lens, but the rest of the world is all twisted and shit.

When we got our iMac with iSight last December we started playing with Photobooth. We now have over 500 pictures of our friends and family with warped and twisted heads. Some of our more creative (read: perverted) friends have discovered that by using the mirror setting you can make your arms, hands and faces look like scary porn. Fun for the whole family.

Those are so fun!
In the first one you look like a cross between Moby and an alien. Is that a bad thing? Sorry if I’ve offended.

Damnit Jon. This does it. I supported you through your “SHS” days, I even took your side in ye olde Croc debate, but this has made me realize that a) I either do the same crap you do or b) we are both old and like the same things. I have pushed my fear of the Mac to great heights, and this has just moved me over the edge to a semi-healthy “Mac-curious” state. I’m slightly uncomfortable right now knowing that I “may just want a Mac now” and as I type this I’m hoping my sweet PC isn’t crying inside.

iSight has been my new best friend for awhile now. You should see the pic of the family I’ve twisted for my own amusement. I think I’ll send it out with the XMAS cards and freak everyone out, lol.

Oh yes, Photo Booth is too much fun:

Oddly, the first one reminds me of my first boyfriend.
Hmmm.

I’m more disturbed by the facial growth. You look SO much more handsome without it. Exhibit A: Heather’s daily photo from 11-22.
