First Night
April 17th, 2007
We appear to be alive. Sore, exhausted and alive. Since Heather and I have been making runs for the past 2 weeks back and forth with small stuff, we only needed a 16′ truck today. Most of our clothes are still at the old house and half of the Tivo. All I know is that we have internet access, so I can breathe again.
The garage is stacked to shit’s elbows with boxes, crap and more crap.
Heather’s family stepped in to help us this time (last time it was largely my family that helped us) and they were all troopers. GEORGE! even came to help lug the big stuff in. My boys Patatomic and McQueen both deserve shouts as well.
Now, Unpack III: Tedium Unlimited. o

Excellent! I have been wondering all day how it went. Having just moved again for the 2nd time in one year I was feeling the pain for you.
Hope you are all feeling better and that Chuck is dealing with the change well.

Glad you are all still alive, moving while sick is dangerous, much hair can be lost in such a process. We are a month behind you in this buying a new house and moving process, not looking forward to it even in good health.

Right On! Congrats folks.
I feel for ya.. the unpacking part… ugh! But soon it will all be behind you, you’ll be able to take a deep, satisfying breath, look around, give each other hugs, and ENJOY!

I’m a little disappointed to hear about the 16′ truck. I was hoping you’d hire a Manhattan cabbie to help you move.

So glad everyone’s still in one piece - I’ve been waiting for the first blog since the uber-move.

Congrats on making it through one of life’s major challenges.
Love the photo of you guys moving. It’s amazing how a move can age you, isn’t it?
