OK, I have to brag a little here.

My husband is the manager of a car audio chain here in Memphis. He has many famous clients and some clients that still call him from across the country to get his opinion. He and the owner get into fights on a daily basis because hubby REFUSES to be dishonest. If you ask, he will show you his cost, the competitions cost, and explain everything in simple to complex detail.

Last July I was about to take a 13-hour road trip with my (nearly) 3 year old son. I pulled out of the gas station at 5:45 am and turned on the DVD player only to find it wasn't working correctly. Since I was only a few blocks from the house, I turned around and went home. I woke hubby up (2 hours earlier than usual) and asked him to fix it. I couldn't drive 13-hours with a 3 year old and not have Elmo! He got up, took the entire dash apart in my Jeep, fixed one little wire and had us on our way within 45 minutes.

Just saying there are some good ones out there!! If you have any questions, he would be more than happy to answer them to the best of his ability so you don't have to 'take it' anymore.

Have a great day~

ps. The day before my trip, I was cleaning the interior of the Jeep and my son put some change in a blower vent. I had to take the vent cover out to get the change out. I jarred some wire loose when I shoved it back into the spot. Just saying the loose wire had nothing to do with the original installation...

To be fair, they finished 20 minutes after I posted this. $30. Hours it took me to not find the problem? 11.

Should have done this weeks ago.

It's still sketchy there.

Car audio repair = most definitely taking it. Especially places with pricing schemes that differ with the method of payment.

I remember my one experience getting my car stereo repaired in a similar manner: I left the place feeling like I needed an incredibly long shower.

Some market sectors seem to attract cretins like bug lights attract moths. I wish I understood why.

I'm with you. It's hard to trust people who target their ideal demographic by shouting and shaking the camera a lot.
