Seriously, thanks for the great review. My son’s in the market for his first machine, and is actively researching the iMac. He was counting the days until Leopard hit the streets, so he’s a very happy camper now.

i’ve been a big fan of CodeWeaver’s CrossOver for Mac (based on the WINE project). This allows me to run just the apps I need without having to pay for a full-blown XP/Vista license just to get access to Visio and Outlook. Works very well. I’ve not tested with 10.5, nor will I get that chance before the new year

I LOVE LEOPARD! I’ve used Quark, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator CS3 without any problems.

I’ve been experiencing weirdness with Preview since installing the upgrade but that just nudged me toward using GraphicConverter as my main photo editor like I think I should have been doing all along. I have Photoshop too, of course.

Just upgraded to 10.5 on the boot drive of my MacBook Pro with Adobe CS3 (fully patched) and had no problems. Everything started up and ran as well or better than before. Cheers! C

@bre, your MacBook shouldn’t have a problem running Leopard, but you should be concerned about the applications you run. Take a look at the mission critical ones and make sure they are ready for Leopard before you take the plunge.

What about upgrading on a 6month old macbook (2gig of ram)…will it be slow? Maybe you wouldn’t know since you have a pro right?

Apparently, Lightroom won’t work until it’s next update. That’s a deal breaker for me. I’ll wait.
