The Kids
November 1st, 2007Halloween 2007 - a photoset on Flickr
There is a certain time of day we take photos of Chuck and he gets treats. If we don’t take photos a certain day, he comes looking for us and looks hopeful, placing his snout on mine or Heather’s leg. He usually gets a treat, even if he doesn’t have to work. I just wish I understood why he’s so damn goth/emo.
Yesterday was a much needed holiday and the best Halloween yet. o

Chuck has that same look in his eyes that our dog does: Like someone is standing just out of the frame, weilding a big stick with which to beat him. It’s generally hard to explain to people that don’t know your dog that actually, no, I don’t beat my dog, in fact I give him more than the recommended daily amount of treats-slash-walkies but still…still the look of fear in his eyes!
LMAO! “goth/emo” brilliant description. He suffers so…
I love, love, love that Leta was a chicken. Did she get in any knock-down candy fights a al Family Guy?
And I must say Chuck is very patient to put up with all that manipulation. But seriously, his pictures often make him look like a stuffed dog. Are you sure he’s real?
Do you guys have to do much to coax Chuck to just sit there and take it besides promise treats? Or is it really as easy as it looks? I’m amazed at what he sits through! My dogs wouldn’t stand for it, unfortunately.
Obviously, he’s been listening to too much Death Cab for Cutie. That turns all the kids emo. Better start the suicide watch.
The last one of Chuck in the witches hat could pass for one of Bill Wegman’s weims. Have you checked his photography - we had a Weimeraner for 15 yrs and he gets their personality to a T.
I have tried putting things on my dogs head and take pictures, it is impossible! Kudos to you on a beautiful set of pictures, chicken kid included! Gorgeous!!
I agree with Sarah - I immediately thought it was Wegman-ish, too!
I’ll trade you my spastic lab mix for your emo dog…Chuck would make a good companion for my emo kid. Better yet - I’ll keep the dog, and just send you my emo kid, k? She’s 14, old enough to be left with Leta and show her how to sulk in corners.
