I am speechless. wow. horrid, horrible.

Wow. They actually out-whored Abercrombie & Fitch. In a warped way, I’m a little impressed….
On the other hand, isn’t Heather’s sister a Walmart diehard? Not that I can picture these getting across the Utah border.

wow. that insults the women’s studies degree in the back of my mind. If we keep teaching little girls that they are commodities, then they will continue to think of themselves in a way that allows commodification. The same goes for how we teach young males to think about girls: if we teach them to think about women as objects and not people, it leads to objectification, commodification, and inequality.

It could be worse and say “Swipe your credit card.” It can always be worse with Walmart.

I told my wife about this, and she went on Mothering.com and found out, I guess, that the back of the panties say something like “When you’ve got Santa,” which by now has been pointed out in the comments of the link.
I don’t know if that context changes anything. The idea of text on underwear is a bit strange to me, I guess.

The underwear are still pro-whore, pro-objectification and disgusting. The implication for a girl for whom the panties are meant is still there: “Give Vagina = Get Stuff”.
The Santa Claus part makes it EVEN MORE PERVY AND WEIRD. Wal-Mart are still hypocrites.

You want gross?!?! Check out the fetus with a gun ornament “that supports our troops” that you can hang on your tree this holiday season. (And they don’t discriminate–there is also a “brown model”).

I agree, Jon, it’s disgusting. My daughters are going to live in clothes made for little girls, not for little.. .whores.

Ew, just…ew. This bothered my husband even more than it bothered me, and that’s saying a lot. And I agree with the previous commenter–text on underwear is just weird anyway.

Ew ew ew ew ew!!!!
So you don’t “need” credit cards if you’ve got an old fat guy to give you stuff? Ouch, my brain hurts from all the obvious ickiness.

i am not going to say the first thing that popped into my head
most of my underwear as an adult has nothing written on it. it’s from VS, but it’s all bikinis.

Wal-Mart has called for its stores to pull the offensive undies from their shelves. I have to agree that they were pretty bad. Not the best message to be sending our daughters.

Saw that over at Feministing.
BTW, I don’t think the addition of Santa to the backside makes the message on the front side look any less skeevy.
Also, even if the whole thing were printed on a wallet, all told it’s still a message of fiscal irresponsibility coupled with the idea that you need a sugar daddy.
(And here’s another fun message of fiscal irresponsibility aimed at girls: http://www.utterz.com/~u-NDk1ODY5OQ/utt.php )
