Go see an ENT asap. Insist on a CT scan of your sinuses. It probably won’t do you a lot of good in Utah, but I have a fantastic sinus doc in NYC. Dr. Michael Shohet of ENT Allergy and Associates (the coolest guy and extremely talented). He operated on my sinuses in 06.’ It turned out I had unusually small passages and lots of scar tissue from previous infections so this combined with allergies meant my sinuses were not open enough to drain properly, causing the infections. Since the surgery I feel like a new person. I can finally breath and no longer have chronic upper resperatory illnesses that left me floored each time. Now just the occasional normal cold. btw, neti pot won’t work enough for you if your passages are too blocked.

I don’t have allergies anymore, but whenever I drink milk or eat cottage cheese (or any cheese) I end up having to blow my nose constantly and I get mucous build up in my throat. Blech.

sure see an allergist
best bet. keep your ears covered in the wind
take COLDfx
and tons of chicken soup(homemade) and drink water
leave Utah

preventative medicine is your best bet-lots of trips to a warm coast!!

I do like the neti pot, but if Jon is as congested as I imagine him to be, a neti pot wouldn’t do anything (at least in my experience). I was also told by one of my med school professors that you can get all the same effects of mucinex if you just drink enough water.

Seeing an ENT/allergist is the best advice I think!

Hope your vacation hasn’t been totally ruined :/
