8 Levers
February 8th, 2008Back in May 2007, I took a bunch of shots of all the antique tools at Heather’s Mom’s cabin with our Lensbaby 3G. I really love the character that the blurs bring to a shot.
I believe this is a lock of some kind. o

Jon,
Not sure why, but your images aren’t showing up in the RSS feed (using Google Reader). Heather’s come through fine.
Nice picture.

I must say I really enjoy your’s and Heather’s photographs. You should start selling prints of them. My husband has started to do that and it is unbelievable the mark up we make on them. (Of course he does work in a frame store so that cuts our costs dramatically) You could even create demand by only selling a certain quantity of each print.

@Bill, I’m using a Wordpress plugin to put the image in the feed and I’m not sure I’ve set it up correctly. I’ll keep hacking away. Thanks for the update. p.s., Heather’s site was developed by pros. This site is developed by me.
@shauna, thanks and we’re looking at it. The biggest issue is fulfillment; getting the images printed, inspected, signed and sent is a big commitment and time hit. We’re both horrible procrastinators.

Using bloglines, I cannot see your images either. It says “This image has no alt text”

Us too. The only advantage we have is that my husband has all day at work to make frames, cut mattes, etc. If you need help with any of that send me an email and I can send you my husband’s contact info (I bet he could at least get you a discount on framing)

Being a huge cheapskate, I never took the opportunity to print out any of the so very many digital pics I have on my computer, until this week. I had to go to the pharmacy anyway, so I uploaded them to CVS. I certainly wasn’t expecting awesome quality, but I was a little shocked at how poorly they came out. So my question, for Jon or anyone else for that matter:
Which service, if any, do you use to print digital pictures?

Jon, my friend Marit and I went to The Redwalls concert in Columbus last night. Don’t know if you’ve heard of them, but they are kick-ass! We expected the live show to be somewhat boring, as they are somewhat Beatles-ish but, honestly, it was the best concert I’ve ever been to. I know you and Heather love music and, for the most part I share your tastes, so I wanted to tell you about them. If you feel compelled to do so, you should get their Wall to Wall disc, as well as their DeNova album.
One random bit…While watching their lead guitarist play, we realized he looked quite familiar. We finally determined that he must be the love child of a young, non-bearded Jon Armstrong and a Lloyd Dobler era Jon Cusack. We wanted to steal him and put lock him in the basement. Uncomfortable? Shit! Me too.
BTW - Wish you’d make a list of your current music favs!
Take care!

hi jon! lurker here, de-lurking to say…i love macro! i recently got a new camera (nothing close to the quality of yours, just a small sony cybershot) which has a pretty sweet macro setting and it makes me very very happy.
also de-lurking to say that i’ve read your entire archive and heather’s too over the last two months or so (i admit, i read heather’s first, as she was linked to by a friend of mine, and it took me about three weeks to catch up), and i love (and am slightly addicted to) both of you and want to move to utah to babysit. or dogsit. or both. your stories, pictures, and humor in general make me feel happy inside.

@Everybody, smaller images should appear in the feed now. Give it a day or two and hopefully it will show up for you.

The image is there and it’s just beautiful. Love your photography.
Hope you’re all recovered from The Illness.

You give Jon some gum, make it obvious that you are giving Jon gum…then wait for Leta to ask for some gum….Don’t tell her it’s for her ears, just give her the juice/ gum…yawn and hope it makes her yawn, (contagious yawning reaction, some kids have it some don’t….) Don’t give out any unnecessary info. to kids..it gives them the upper hand….and we NEED the upperhand…..cuase somebody’s got to be the adult….*looking around* shit that leaves us, the parents of these spawn…..not ‘these’ literally…but collectively…or figuratively….

‘cuase’ somebody’s got to teach them how to spell, too…shit that leaves us again…

Add my voice to those who say they’d like to see your images available for sale.
Also, I got a lot out of the Lensbaby review you wrote some time ago. I am always very keen to read anything you write about photography/equipment/processing/etc.
Finally, despite my initial critical comments, the new design is growing on me.
