dooce® Meetup
March 3rd, 2008dooce® Meetup at Halcyon (Saturday, March 8, 2008) – Upcoming (link goes to Upcoming).
We’ll be in Austin, Texas for SxSW this year and on Saturday, March 8 at 11am, we’ll be hanging at Halcyon coffee from about 11am until 1pm. We’d love to meet and visit with you, so come on by! o

so sad that I won’t be at SXSW this year. hope you guys have a great time!
Was on the fence about going to SXSW but now for sure will be there! How can I miss Dooce? Can’t.
You need me to watch the dogs while you’re out?
Awesome! We’ll have to take the bus over. I love that SXSW forces you to learn the names of many of the cities businesses. I’ve been calling this “the place that used to be Rutamaya” for years.
Oh how I wish I could go…
Last day to vote for People’s Choice at the SXSW Interactive Awards… vote for my site The Dreaded Grove, in the student category.
Anyone want to represent me at the awards ceremony if I win?
I, alas, will probably be in flight between Boston and Austin. But maybe I’ll get to see you on the show floor or something. (I’m going for work.)
Awesome. We’ll be there.
Wish we could make it since we’re here in Austin, but with three kids ages three and under that whole “leaving the house” thing is only slightly less complicated than a moon landing. Have a great time, and be sure to get some breakfast tacos at Taco Shack while you’re in town!
I’m at Fort Hood and hoping to stop by! If you see a tall blonde with 4 kids that would be me!
I will try to make it over. Very excited about SXSW in general. Yes, complete newbie here.
But, um, will you still say hi to me when I confess I don’t drink coffee?
Come to Ft Myers Florida!!! We have coffee too! And some of us can even read!
Hm, we’ll see if I can talk my boyfriend out of our MS 150 training ride Saturday morning and drive to Austin instead.
It’s not like our training rides aren’t halfway to Austin anyway . . .
Hi, Jon.
I love reading your blog and Heather’s, but I have to say that your white text on black background is VERY hard on my 50+ year old eyes.
Still–keep up your work, I love you and Heather. WEll, I love your WORDS
not necessarily you PERSONALLY, since I don’t know either of you….. You know what I mean………
wish I could be there…..but sending a shout out anyway
Have a great time….HUGS
I was about theeeeese close to making the 8 hour trip when I found out you were coming and because I miss Austin so terribly, but motherhood calls. I also couldn’t help think of Parvo when I saw that Coco was sick. I’ve tried to adopt two dogs from our local pound in the past month, and they both ended up euthanized. The pound has a serious Parvo problemo.
Figures, I move from Ft.Worth to Austin and get all excited about seeing y’all and I choose that weekend to leave town. No, not even just town, I’m leaving the friggin state. I’m not a happy camper, just in case you couldn’t pick that up.
I live in Italy. I just woke up. I was dreaming that I was in my car, driving home, and I saw a road sign that read: Austin 80 miles.
An dI thought: OMG I didn’t figure it was that close! I have to go say helo to dooce and blurb…
then my baby started crying and the dream was over.
Maastricht, the Netherlands is not quite in the area of Austin. TX, me thinks. So I guess I won’t be joining you.
Have fun!
Damn, this was the time I WISHED I still lived there! Oh well, enjoy the trip and say hello to my town! I love that place!
I am hoping a couple of my friends will make it there to get an autograph from you and Heather
My friends and I will be there. We’ll be the ones still trying to think of something to say other than, “Your websites are really neat.”
I will be with you in spirit…alas, I live in Maine, so Austin is a bit far to travel for a meet-up in a coffee shop. Although I do love coffee. If you’re ever in Maine, I’ll come see you.
Anton and I will be there.
I just started blogging. I’m kind of addicted. Make it stop.
Jon,
You and Heather ROCK! but you already knew that. So nice to meet you both and see you later on at 16bit party. I have photos on my blog and on flickr.
