You’ll be great. Don’t worry about it.
Wish I could make it to Austin…oh well. At least it’s warm here
March 6th, 2008 at 8:34 am
Ooh, what fun. You’ll rock the slides I am sure:)

drink before (and after)

You will do fine. Just take a Xanax before you go on - nothing can be bad with that med. Good luck though! I wish so badly I could be at the festival!
March 6th, 2008 at 9:18 am
Dude, you’ll be fine. For reals.
If it’s any consolation, we’ve decided to make the drive to Austin and I’m nervous just to meet you guys!!
March 6th, 2008 at 9:22 am
Good luck, but I don’t believe that you will need it. I’m sure you can use jargon and gesturing with the best of them. Credibility….you can fake it. Kidding!
Anyone that can make such an amusing slide show about stress/depression and Prozac should do just fine.
March 6th, 2008 at 9:35 am
Good luck!!! And if you start getting nervous, just take out the other panelists by kicking them in the shins. Then everyone will be soo distracted by their blinding pain, they won’t notice that you’re nervous.
=0)

Hello…I’m a doocehead, and stop by your blog from time to time as well.
Did you read the Jeff Tweedy article in yesterday’s New York Times opinion section? He wrote a fabulous article about coping with migraines, depression, and panic disorder. I had just read your post about taking Prozac, and knowing that you are a big Wilco fan, naturally thought you’d appreciate this article. (And while that sounds as if I’m about to start stalking you, I assure you this is not the case.)

Reach inside and find out where the terror comes from. It might not be so bad after all. Most people are in awe of people who can get up in front of other people. YOU ARE SOMETHING SPECIAL!!! YOU LOVE WHAT YOU DO AND LET IT SHINE THROUGH!

If I were going to SXSW, I’d have showing up and making “woo hoo” noises for you my A1 priority for the day. eeek! Franklin Planner flashback!)
Good luck! That looks like it would be very fun to watch.
“Net-net it’s a win for all sides once we drill down and find our mutual synergy. Then, late second quarter we’ll open a closed beta for third party devs and ramp up to enterprise scaling levels.”
March 6th, 2008 at 10:08 am
Oh, that looks great! How fun!
March 6th, 2008 at 11:03 am
Good luck! I’m sure it will be great. I so wish I was in Austin right now instead of freezing my ass off in New England.
March 6th, 2008 at 12:05 pm
good luck!!
and…. while at sxsw… you MUST see the builders and the butchers. They’re a portland band. They are a-m-a-z-i-n-g live. Well, they’re amazing period. You will be very sad if you miss them.

My knee-jerk reaction was to tell you that you’ll be fine, just take a xanax and maybe have a couple cocktails. But then I read the description of what it is you’re going to be doing in Room 12A-B on Friday, March 7th from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
And now, I’m sorry to say, I got nothin’ for you other than a tepid but heartfelt…goodluck?
March 6th, 2008 at 1:33 pm
I will so be there if I can. My flight gets in at 4, so it could be tight.
March 6th, 2008 at 2:09 pm
Oooh, you have to video it for those of us that will be cheering from you from afar and can’t see it in person. I’m sure with all your witty bantering experience you will do faaabulous……Kick some verbal butt

@Crystal : Thanks for the article. I really enjoyed it!

Jon Deal, If you could just shift your paradigm to empower you to think outside the box, the synergies created could create teamwork that would catapult your performance into the major leagues. If you have any questions about that, ping me and we’ll take the discussion offline.

Awww, you’ll be great!
March 7th, 2008 at 10:33 am
You’ll be great. It’s no different than playing Jonathan Harker at Palace back in the day. Let me know how it turns out…
March 7th, 2008 at 3:20 pm
Jon, it could be worse, look at it this way, Jon Deal and Pete Dunn could be in the audience.
Break a leg.
