I think Dooce* should have a Daily Hate Mail, in addition to the Daily Photo, Daily Chuck, and Daily Style. At least give us a weekly Hate Mail treat. Pretty please?!?

I wanted, very much, to go to the meet and greet. I just couldn't justify loading up my 10 week old daughter for a 3.5 hour drive just to meet someone I read on the internet. Even though I've been reading Heather's site since 2001 and your almost as long. I'm still a little sad I didn't go.

I'm glad you had a good time and congratulations to Heather for the awards. She deserves all of them and more.

I'm torn to bits that I missed the meet-up last weekend.

Between forgetting which day it was and house sitting with 4 young dogs (never suggested) I entirely missed yall! On Sunday, I checked the time and location, and realized wellshit! I have no good excuse.

I truly look up to you and your wife, (and chuck! and your daughter, and maybe even that puppy.) Wish I could have told you in person.

I hope Austin treated you well, and if you need a more welcoming coffee-house meetup-location next time, you have plenty of alternatives.

Thanks for the recap.

So, I'm knocking back the margaritas on the rocks and you're going "jesus, jesus." Now, I understand!

Was it really Johnny Walker Blue or Johnny Walker Red with a Doppler shift?

Hmmmmmm?

Are any of the presentations going to be available for downloading? It sounded like a fun and interesting conference. And YES GETTING OLD SUCKS BIG TIME!
I'm 3 years away from 50 and 9 months away from 20 years at a large Dallas semiconductor company. I can't really believe it... I was a geek before geeks were cool... Comp Sci major. ;-) We get a gold parking pass for 20 and no more additional "timebank", it's maxed out at 20 years. Sorta sucks, but if I can hang in there until 55, I can retire with health insurance benefits. Worth more now than a pension plan!
You guys rock... looking forward to reading more about the weekend, about Coco & Chuck's reunion with Mom & Dad & Leta. About how Leta's long weekend with Grandma was... etc. I love reading Dooce then yours, I get a fuller picture... why I care is the real question? I guess it's like an ongoing reality TV show, except it's real life happening in Utah... a state I never plan to live in. Too many Mormons for me! I've got some UU friends that are former Mormons... their stories have always been quite interesting about their growing up in the religion.

Thanks, Jon, for such a detailed update. I [almost] feel like I was there. After following the conference this year, I can't think of a conference I'd like to attend more.

That sucks that they made you leave! And I agree with Doug- you'd think they'd want the business.

I'm really going to have to get down there next year. I wish I'd gotten to see Heather's panel. That's exactly the kind of advice I've been looking for lately.
