Chuck Hauling Ass
April 2nd, 2008Taken a couple of days ago after another snow storm left several inches of snow. The dogs couldn’t have been more happy about the weather. Their father is upping his dose. o

Hi Jon,
I know you and Heather do not talk about everything you do and all your issues on your blogs so my suggestion may be moot. But I mean well.
According to what you share on your blogs you two have a very nice relationship where you live and work together, and are really seemingly together a lot in your house. You have family on both sides close by which you see regularly. You have a kid, being a parent is hard, but rewarding. You have pets. You pet sit. Relatives and friends come and stay with you frequently. Heather travels for work, you go too sometimes. You go on mini vacations together sometimes. Sometimes, you get amnesia just long enough to take your kid and/or pets on vacation with you, and barely survive the experience. I do not remember any stories about any stuff you do all by yourself just for yourself. Maybe you could go visit some of YOUR friends for a few days all by yourself, or begin volunteering for something all by yourself. I know you are very into music, and have some experience playing music. Perhaps there is some sort of mentoring or tutoring thing you can do?
So, basically, I thing the dogs, and the snow, and the being the man, and wanting to fix it all will be less daunting if you find something to do that is all about you, and do it just for you.

After skulking in the shadows of your blog numerous times, I decided it was time to tell you that I love your photos. And this is a brilliant capture. Have a wonderful day.

Love the look on Chuck’s face.

I don’t understand why people give unsolicited advice.
I respect what you and your wife do, putting yourselves out there.
So for what its worth, thank you for the pictures and the stories.

@Lana Wood, what you’ve suggested? That’s what this site is. That’s why I’m doing more photos. Once the weather warms up, I’ll have lots of non-snow, non-dog related imagery to post.

Chuck is pumped up and ready to run! Gorgeous boy!

At least someone in the family enjoys the winter!
We had a mild one here, in the mid-atlantic, and I hope that spring comes soon for y’all and that you get some beautiful pictures of flowers, instead of snow.
When our children are out of school, we’re headed (back) south for the land of no winters…only 14 years to go!

Awesome! Chuck and my dog have that same devilish look when they leap thru snow…
You’re making me think about posting dog photos on my blog!

I love Chuck…it IS truly a beautiful thing how he can make even winter and snow seem like a great thing to be enjoyed. I don’t think you or Heather should change a think about the way you spend your time…unless you want to. Thanks for sharing youreselves, your lives and (biasedly) most of all Chuck.

I wish I could enjoy snow the way Chuck does. I just get mopey and pissed off.

Even though I haven’t experienced it, it does seem like you guys are enduring the longest winter ever. It seems to have been going on for like 6 months, while we on the other hand have had 6 months of summer. People were swimming at the beach last night. Ah well what can you do. Wishing you many hot hot days and lazy summer nights listening to the crickets with the dogs panting at your feet.

You rock.
That is all.

Something tells me Chuck burns a heck of a lot more calories than I do every day. Go Chuck!

Blurb said “I’ll have lots of…non-dog related imagery to post.”
Oh but we looooooooove the doggie photos. Keep ‘em coming. Between you, Dooce and this guy, I get my daily dose of fabulously captured-in-action critters.

I wish I were a dog so I could enjoy snow and think it’s fun! We got a couple of inches just after Easter, and we’ll get some new snow on Sunday again, apparently. I know your pain!

The photo of Chuck balls to the wall makes me happy. Seeing as we have snow in Denver AGAIN today.
