Until my boys are old enough for their mother to teach them how to dribble and shoot a basketball, that’s what our hoop is going to look like too - festooned with algea.
Perhaps one of them will carry on his father’s legacy of non-athleticism, so one-third of the net may still be so overgrown.
I like the way it *pops* against your site design and colors, and the way the rim draws your eye across the frame.

I’m not sure if the address here is appropriate. From the looks of the sky, you might want to run inside. I’ve never seen green sky before. My first thought was you are being invaded. Put your camera down and run, run fast! They sometimes have probes.

No shit! Even though I’m in S.E. Alaska, it is supposed to be spring and we just got 5 inches of snow last night! Everyone was required to take their snow tires off 2 days ago. I threw out my daughter’s snow boots 2 weeks ago because she wore them out. Gack!

i suggest maybe doing some reverse psychology on mother nature, like saying how much you want it to snow and maybe just maybe she’ll be confused and send sun and warmth?!

I’ve gotta agree with Amber here…you seem totally shocked every time it snows! I know it’s mid-April but it’s been like months of posts about the snow snow snow and did you know it SNOWED? You should move somewhere that it doesn’t snow…EVER.

We’ve had at least 4 instances of 70 degree weather, then snow, so far this spring in Boulder. I know it’s normal, but I too am over it.

To those who think I’m whining about snow: Take a look at the graph here. Compare the red line to the green one. We haven’t had a winter like this in a very very long time. Bear in mind, this is just one water station. We’ve had double the water content compared to last year. We’ve had an above average year even looking back at the average from 1971-2000. I’m merely drawing attention to the fact that this has been an extraordinary winter.
After you live in Los Angeles for awhile, the weather every where else can’t even come close. We’ve spent five winters in Utah and this one has been the most difficult by far. That’s all I’m saying, people.

Blurb, you’re not whining. Trust me. I grew up in Idaho where in high school we had 8 feet of snow in the parking lot. AND I AM SO DONE WITH SNOW….AND SNOW IN UTAH IN PARTICULAR. Until next year.
That said, I do agree with the reverse psychology thing. I tell you, you are really egging on the snow gods with these pictorials.

The chart is definitely telling. I think the point I was just trying to make is this… If I start mentally prepping myself for winter to be over early, all it is going to do is make me practically suicidal if Spring doesn’t start ASAP. I live in New England and though we haven’t had snow as recently as you, we certainly have our share of bizarre snow phenomenons and long winters. I just try to chalk it up to living in a climate where that happens (even more so now with global warming…) Sorry, wasn’t trying to hate!

I totally agree with Blurb on this SNOW year. Not the norm in years past - This winter has kicked my butt here in NH. Yeah we are used to alot but this year and has made it great for the ski resorts, but those of us who werent prepared…and couldnt get plowed… it has been very Expensive!
The contractors that shovel roofs and plow are very well off now…
I am so glad to see a bit of ground now, but totally bummed when there is a mere flurry.

People! Complaining about snow is how people survive where there is snow. If it wasn’t for complaining about snow, Canada would have the homicide rate of Mexico, Buenos Aires and Downtown United States combined. Let the man have his say.

Whine all you want, dude. I’m in Houston and whine about the cold when it drops below 60 degrees. I can’t fathom actual snow, especially this late in the year.
(Initially, I only wanted to comment on the beautiful picture, but now I feel compelled to defend your right to whine. But it is an amazing picture. I love that you post-process things beyond recognition. That is an art itself. Beautiful.)
