Backside of Tower Theater
April 25th, 2008Compare to this image. I tried to calm it down a bit on the colors. Probably a mistake on my part.
There is a Tower Theater in Salt Lake City, but its history and texture is a bit different from this building. A bit. The detail! Spectacular. o

Why calm down the colors? Go for it! If that’s the way YOU see the building then that’s what you should convey.
(Life’s too short not to show all the colors!)
What a beautiful building! I love the angle you shot this from.
Wow, Jon! You and your family have had QUITE the month, haven’t you? Hope things calm down for a while…but I’m very excited for you and Heather. Here’s hoping nothing but wonderful things come out of all this publicity.
Now go have a drink!
If you like architecture, I highly recommend that you visit Chicago. We have a great music scene here, too.
The sky on the Flickr image seems over done and blown out to me. But, I’m totally with Jules :that’s me and you should do do your thing your way and not worry about what hacks like me think about it!
Hey, about Heather’s picture re being a stunt double for Reese Witherspoon’s chin. I’m guessing that Reese has Fragile X as well.
I really enjoy your architecture photos – Thank you.
You know when I lived in Salt Lake City I drove by this theater nearly every day on my way to the “U.” I never even noticed the beautiful architecture! I will certainly look at it differently next time I see it.
Reminds me of Germany.
Your Los Angeles series reminds me of a modern-day take on the movie Chinatown. It’s like noir, but with light instead of shadow. And I realize that sounds pretentious. Cool stuff!
Nice, but I like the other pic better.
I like the colors in this shot better, but the composition of the other shot better, with the sun on the top of the tower. Both are excellent.
Capture your WPA building shots while ye may, because they’re disappearing fast. Thankfully I got into the Cincinnati train station before they turned it into a shopping mall, and got some great shots. Alas, where the negatives are is a mystery.
Great building, great shots.
