Nary a Mention of Al Roker. Or His Business. Except in the Title.

A bunch of shots I took of Heather at NBC are included in this awesome awesome post. Plus: comments are open, people. o

Nice shots, Jon! What are you shooting with these days?

I’m so glad she told the backstory of the heretofore named KL Incident.
I was watching [the clip on the website because for all things holy and decent I cannot get local network channels and I'm too cheap to pay extra for them and fer chrissake DirectTV can we just hook a girl up with some NBC already?] and when KL started the chit chat about the scariness of Kids On The Web I just cringed.
Yep - it’s all been said elsewhere more eloquently, but dang, chickie seriously needs a full hour to flesh out a thought. She should really get a tad more concise in her criticism and content commentary if this Today gig is a keeper, no?
And - cool shots. You make me have photo envy, and I didn’t really even know that I wanted to photo things. So there you go.

Beautiful shots. Great to see the behind the scenes action.

For all the disappointment of the Today Show segment, the Nightline piece more than made up for it. Congrats on all the press you guys have been getting!

The NightLine segment was wonderful to watch. Not just because I’m a fan of blurbdoocery, but also because I am a full-time parent and the segment made me feel less alone. Being a stay-at-home dad is kinda tough, as it’s insulating (although the laughs and feelings of pride more than make up for it), and dooce and blurbomat and others of that ilk give me a sense of belonging. Thanks for that, tremendous thanks.

The “Nightline” piece was such a relief after the Kathie Lee creepshow (though Heather was as awesome as possible there, too); I only wish the bumpers and promos hadn’t tried so hard to manufacture “CONTROVERSY!”
Network TV makes me sick. And I should know, I used to work there…

great shots! It was really neat to see the process.

Heather was brilliant! She didn’t appear fazed by anything that ditzy KL woman threw at her. Go Heather!
Incidentally, as a UK person (with family in the US) can I just say that IMHO Kathy Lee sums up everything that’s wrong with American TV! Five minute attention span, not able to talk about anything without coming back to ME ME ME!, apparently proud of her ignorance …. WHY is she allowed to continue doing what she does, presumably at a ludicrously high salary? Meh!

I am so proud of you and Heather! KL and others don’t understand the community aspect to blogging. I think most of your readers (myself included) feel like you’re friends of ours, and that’s a really cool and special thing…I hope the two of you can feel it.

kathy lee has always been flighty.
the nightline piece was WONDERFUL ! it was really great to see you all in your element. you are both articulate and down to earth - thanks for all you do ! and way to go nightline for making such an in depth summary of your life. and even if you do golf with doctors, i think you deserve it!

You must be SO proud of Heather Jon!!!!

Any chance of getting the NightLine segment online, I missed it. I am also glad to see the backstory of her convo with KLG, makes you realize how TV changes how people act.

I agree, MontanaJen,
Not to mention, gain a pound or twenty for cripes sake!!! Honestly, I used to like her, (Kathie Lee) think she was fun…now I think she is giving we ‘women of a certain age’ a bad name. Not all of us look like a corpse nor do we embarrass ourselves by acting like silly 21 year old airheads! (no disrespect to 21 year old airheads LOL…it looks good on you!) Honestly, I’m not an old fart, I’m a contemporary 49 yr old…but I’ve watched her on Today 3 times so far and been embarrassed each time.
