I usually fear overexposure in chunks of a photo, because then people will know I haven’t gone to Photography School, but here it works really well. The dark and the burned-out light = great tension in the composition.

Love the photo, and there is a palpable sadness to it. NYC is GREAT for taking pictures, and you have a fabulous eye for composition.

Jon,
I hope you get the credit you deserve for being an amazing husband and being a huge influence in Heather’s creative energy. It takes a man like you to nurture a gift like hers.
Together you two are unstoppable because you are absolutely genuinely nice intelligent people who deserve all the wonderful things coming your way.
P.S. Your twitter about Nunu the chihuahua scared me that I knew what you were talking about, even though I watched that episode more than a year ago. The image is STILL with me.. geez.

the color and light composition is fantastic - it is making me want to go to NYC to shoot right now!

That’s pretty sketchy-looking.
I must say, your pictures are always fantastic. I enjoy looking at them because they’re not always things that I would think to photograph.
