Dinner With Friends
May 26th, 2008We have had the best time in Vancouver. The weather has cooperated wonderfully and given us days full of sun. People are so nice and lovely and it feels like the whole city is about to explode with summer awesomeness.
I’ve taken a lot of photos on this trip and can’t wait to share. I’ll also be adding a few more for sale when we return. This has been a great trip for us. One we desperately needed. o

So glad you had the trip you’ve needed for awhile! Last time I was in Vancouver was for our Honeymoom (1999) and we cruised off to Alaska .. what a beautiful city from the water too! I remember a great B&B we stayed in .. lots of great memories…

This is a really great shot. I love images using available light. The reflection is great, and the tones are so “comfy”. Really great capture!
Glad to hear you two are having a nice time!

Vancouver has become my home away from home. So glad you both had a wonderful visit.

It’s great to get away.. Never been to Canada, but I’ve heard it’s beautiful.

Vancouver’s one of my favorite cities in the world, especially in spring, with all those gorgeous flowers everywhere!

Vancouver is my HOME. Except that I am living in Toronto. I lived in Vancouver since I was a little kid. Today it rained out here in TO and my heart was suddenly broken by really bad homesickness, which is something that I honestly don’t feel too often.
So, I can’t tell you how very, very excited I was to open up my google reader this morning and see promises of pics of that awesome city on your blog. Really, really looking forward to it.
(Unbreak my heart, Jon!)

I am so glad you love it here, again. We have a boat and are happy to share if you are ever out here again.

I was looking at this photo in Google Reader, and it looked *good* on the white background, but it’s totally stunning here on black. WOW.

You were lucky with the weather - it was a stunning weekend. Of course, today it has reverted back to it’s true name…the wet coast (it is still pretty awesome even when it rains).

It was great to meet you last week at the brewery and I’m glad you had such good weather here. Thanks for inviting everyone to say hi, it was very cool to see both Heather and you in person!

So happy you guys had fun in Van! We sure did! Thanks for being so gracious to the end, and taking time for everyone. It was well worth the trip over from the Island for us! Thanks again!

This is a fabulous shot, Jon! Glad you enjoyed your time in Vancouver. Thanks for the advice on the photo printing last week.

I love the spirit of this scene. So soft and warm…very much like the trip you describe. I’m so glad you were able to get away. You certainly deserve it.
May 26th, 2008 at 6:23 pm
So romantic! I can never take photos this sharp with such dark lighting. Well done!

It was great to see you guys again. I grew up in Vancouver, so I’m probably biased. But I’ve traveled a lot, and when I come back to Vancouver, I’m always struck by how beautiful it is. It seems to compare favourably with almost anywhere I’ve been (excepting, perhaps, Prague).

Delurking to say I’m glad you two had a great time in Vancouver! I wish I had known about your visit here earlier. Would’ve liked to chat with you and Heather at the meet and greet. Can’t wait to see more photos. And indeed, we had fabulous weather over the weekend!
May 27th, 2008 at 2:34 am
btw, did you go to the opening of the first Apple Store in downtown Vancouver? =)
May 27th, 2008 at 7:42 am
I would totally buy that picture!
May 27th, 2008 at 7:44 am
Is it just too wrong that the pepper mill looked like a phallus to me initially?
May 27th, 2008 at 11:18 am
i am seconding the initial-phallus reaction.
May 27th, 2008 at 11:23 am
Ben, you’ve made me feel much better!
May 27th, 2008 at 11:28 am
I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed Vancouver. It was great to meet you and Heather. Thanks!

I’m glad you guys enjoyed our beautiful city. Sounds like it was the trip you needed.
Ah, just to let you know, the weather usually doesn’t cooperate like that too often (or at least, that’s what we tell the tourists! LOL)
May 28th, 2008 at 7:16 am
That is a truly lovely photo.
May 28th, 2008 at 7:35 am
I love Vancouver.
