What is this? A specialty shop for beach vollyball players?
If so, Florida IS awesome.

Yeah. It’s awesome if you’re on vacation at the beach. It’s even awesome to live here for a lot of reasons but there’s a lot of things we aren’t very proud of.
Such as screwing up elections and being like 49th in education spending. Or something close to that, anyway.
And hurricanes. They aren’t so awesome. Well, they are, but not in a good way.
And people trying to put amendments in the constitution banning gay marriage. And it being against the law to adopt a child if you’re gay. And Disney World. And major water shortages. And sugar growers destroying the Everglades. And the St. Joe paper company destroying huge parts of the wetlands to build faux old Florida developments. And inappropriate coastal development.
We have our problems.
But damn. I wouldn’t live anywhere else.
Okay. Maybe Mexico.

Florida is the best place in the whole world. I was born in Florida, and have lived here most of my life, and I love it, hurricanes, rednecks and all. I also recognized the stretch of beach in Destin that was visible from your vacation condo. I had the same view, from a nearby condo about a block east, a year ago.
Cherish your photographs; ignorant people want to drill for oil, and if they get their way, that lovely clear blue water will turn murky and the pristine white beaches will be covered with a stinking black mass of oil and dead animals.
I’m terrified: Florida’s economy is tourist-based. The tourists come for the clear, blue water and sparkling white beaches. No beaches, no tourists. No tourists, no money.
