Big Prints

Heather shows off some our larger work. I’d love to offer big prints, but I’m guessing the pricing and shipping necessary would drastically reduce sales. Some of you have hinted at wanting larger prints and I may have a section in the shop that handles those. Still debating. With myself. o

UPDATE: I’ve added my shot to the store. You can see pricing info here. Sizes are in inches. I might make the more popular prints available as larger prints.

    Do it. Offer big prints. Charge enough to cover shipping. They will sell. I promise. :)

    I’m quite happy to pay more for larger prints, and I’m sure other people would. It’s common sense that they cost more than 8×10s or whatever, but sometimes you need a larger size to do justice to the photo, or for a certain spot in your home. I’m often frustrated that I see a fabulous photograph, and I have the exact spot or frame in mind, then find out it’s only available as a teeny 6×4 - boo!!

    Just out of curiosity, what paper are you printing these on and what are you using for a printer? Are you doing it yourself, or sending it out?

    @blowery, check out this post:

    I like thicker stocks, 250gsm and up, because they feel so good. I also like matte prints because given the kind of work I do, the matte seems to do more justice than either glossy or luster/pearl papers.

    Sweet, thanks for the pointer. If you don’t mind sharing, which specific papers did you end up liking? I’m currently doing some printing (back on an Epson 2200) and I’m curious what you found when trying out different papers. Also, you mentioned a bunch of different printers in that linked post; which one did you settle on?
