Granville Island Skull
July 3rd, 2008This image is exactly what I’ve felt like the past few days as I’ve watched the server get a ton of comments. My brain has been going OFF.
This was taken on Granville Island, May 2008, while walking down to the marketplace to buy awesome fruits and coffee. Every day we would walk by this and I kept making a note to shoot this and on our final day, took this shot. Normally I would have forgotten. Because I have a mind like a steel trap. o

I am quite impressed that your server and Drupal could even handle that many comments. I’m pretty sure Heather now has the world record for most comments ever on a blog post. Is Drupal very difficult to learn?

Because I have a mind like a steel trap.
Nothing gets in, nothing gets out?

In the park behind my grandma’s home, there used to be a stencil of Bjork sprayed onto the ground. I went back in the spring to take a picture of it, but the harsh winter had cleared it right off. Kudos for getting that while you could.

A mother up the street was bragging about how brilliant her preschooler was–HAD to find the right private school, etc.
“I need to get her in a program right away. She’s so bright; her mind is like a SIEVE”.
Yeah, I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree?
A sieve?

I often say that I have a “mind like a steel trap…left out in the rain…riddled with rust”. Next time I’m upgrading to stainless. Or maybe Drupal, lol.

I’d like to know more about Drupal, too. Is it difficult to figure out if you are already an XHTML/CSS guru who can work their way through PHP?

Hi, I really like your photos. You inspired me to start a photo of the day blog. Funny, I was reading a friends blog and the by-line was “Yet another blog with a readership of 2″ LOL!! I think I have two readers.
Anyway, I find it to be theraputic to post my photos. They’re not great, but I like them. And my sister-in-law does too.
OK, no problem to register - I read the troll thing. He’s an idiot. Happy to do it.
Keep posting, thank you for posting.

Don’t we all feel this way at times?

That’s quite a piece of artwork.
Love Granville Island.

Just started using Drupal and although it makes MY brain go OFF coding templates for it, i’m loving the design flexibility. I know that Dooce.com has been on liquid Web for several years, but what hosting package do you use…Dedicated, VPS, shared?
PS: Did you try the maple cream ale at Granville brewery? yum yum

ps: can’t imagine that Dooce would be on a shared account. clean code isgreat but your hosting setup makes all the difference on a high traffic site.

i don’t imagine the street artist is getting a commission from the sale of this photo on etsy… that makes me sad.
