Dumpster with Juice and Shoes
July 31st, 2008Vancouver is a very clean city. At least the parts of it I saw. I couldn’t resist jumping down an alley to shoot this very out of place, leaky dumpster. As I tried to get right with the light, I discovered these shoes, placed perfectly. I didn’t touch the shoes. Or the juice. o

I once read a story about dumpster diving and the author said that people who dive often leave shoes outside of the dumpster if the finder doesn’t need them so others don’t have to go digging and so the shoes don’t get ruined in the garbage.
As for the “juice”… that’s a different story.

I actually looks out of place in that setting, but oddly pleasing as bright and colorful as it is. It is rebelious.

When I lived in Vancouver I went shoe shopping and left my old shoes next to the dumpster much like this. They were too shredded for me to wear but better than the average hobo shoe.
Love what you’ve done with the colours in this one.
