I thought we’d have to wait a day or two for these. Incredible shots. Absolutely incredible opening ceremony captured in great ways to show the scope and humanity. Must see. o

I thought my brain was melting, watching all of this in action. I kept rewinding and rewatching, trying to make sense of it. So boggletastic! I think China may be winning?

These are incredible images. I’m kicking myself for not watching it on the TV. I’m also shuddering because I know that whatever Vancouver/Canada comes up with for our turn at the Winter Olympics will pale in comparison and likely be cheesy and/or involve Sarah MacLaughlin. But then, maybe I’m just a Negative Nelly. Looking forward to table tennis!

I tuned in, prepared to be unimpressed…but DAMN, that was one of the most astonishing things I’ve ever seen. Bravo, China! Good show! And the pictures…Whoa!

Have been having lengthy discussions about what can possibly be done for the London 2012 ceremony. If we’ve had a guy appointed to the job of trying to organise it, he must have been watching in tears.
So far our only idea is for a guy to show up in a white van, 20 minutes late. The van backfires, lights the half finished torch, introduces himself as Dave and drinks a cup of tea. Then stands back and says, ‘that’s gonna cost ya!’
