I don’t want to see Obama tainted by slipping down into the mud with the GOP, but I’m glad he’s exposing the lies.

It’s about time we started fighting back, I just wish the first ad had addressed the specific lies. We know them because we’re paying attention, unfortunately the sheep aren’t!

I too wish Obama didn’t have to get down in the mud but at this point with the polls, truthful or not, stating the race is so close he has to start screaming the truth as loudly as possible.

The sad thing is those who support Emperor Palpatine- err, McCain- will probably just go, “Look who’s running smear ads NOW when he said he wouldn’t! Flip flopper!”
It’s not a smear when it’s the truth. Unlike a certain “Sex Ed for 5-year-olds” ad I’ve been seeing…. Barf.

Even Karl Rove said that MCain’s ads go too far and contain lies. Now when Karl Rove calls you a liar, it’s someone who knows what he’s talking about.

A guy in Florida put up a sign that says, “obama half-breed muslin”
I, for one, am not sure what “obama half-breed muslin” is…Is that some new kind of fabric? Is it used for upholstery or clothing? Do you think I might be able to get some at the local Jo-Ann Fabric store?
Re: the politics of this…it disappoints me to think that people would vote against someone on the basis of race and the misguided notion that he’s Muslim. It’s one thing to vote against someone’s policies, but I thought that as a culture, we had moved beyond racism. I guess I’m wrong. And that worries me all the more because I’m in the process of adopting a child from Ethiopia.

Here is something we can all do to fight back:
get out an campaign in the swing states (or, your own state if you live in one). Forget about the deep red states, there’s no chance and institutional and cultural ignorance is too ingrained. But each vote in a swing state can make a difference and people need healthy, respectful discussions to get to the truth. Maybe that asshole who put up the Muslin sign is a lost cause, but perhaps his neighbor is not.

And keep in mind, Governor Palin made rape victims pay for their own rape kits while Mayor of Wasilla! To top it off, she’d like to force rape victims to carry and most likely raise the offspring of said rape when she does away with Roe v. Wade. It’s disgusting and shocking that this woman in ANY WAY counts herself as a feminist. More like Feminazi!
