Country Road

September 22nd, 2008

Taken just outside of Knoxville. I believe this area is part of the University of Tennessee Arboretum. The noise from cicadas was deafening. I saw a huge moth on a tree trunk that I couldn’t get the photo before it flew away and caused me to jump 75 feet in the air.

I’ll be posting a few more shots from this walk/hike we did over the next few days. It is so different to hike where there is moisture in the air. Mold and fungi are everywhere. Very different from the desert where I live. o

That is the one thing I noticed when I was in SLC, I have never had such dried out nostrils in my life! I’m used to living in FL where there’s 100% humidity everyday, bad hair days are the norm, sweat happens. Nice shot too, it looks like a road to someplace wonderful.

Take me home, country road, to the place I belong…

Is that a tree or a telephone pole in the middle of the road, all the way at the end? It looks sorta funny, no? No matter, it’s a beautiful shot, Jon!
