Exercising my right to vote may possibly be the only form of exercise I actually enjoy!
Anyone on here who votes in Maine — just a reminder that Maine allows same-day voter registration. I was in and out in under ten minutes, even with a name change! They were WAY organized!!!
If you need to know where to go to vote, Google has a cool thing on their homepage. Just underneath where you would typically type in what you’re looking for, there is a line that says, “Find out where to vote today with Google Maps.” If you click on that link, you can search by address for your local polling place!!!!
Get out the vote, people! It’s the most patriotic thing you can do as an American!!!!!

It’s Tuesday, November 4th, 2008, Election Day in America. The last polls have straggled in, and show little sign of mercy for John McCain. Barack Obama appears poised for a decisive electoral victory.
Our model projects that Obama will win all states won by John Kerry in 2004, in addition to Iowa, New Mexico, Colorado, Ohio, Virginia, Nevada, Florida and North Carolina, while narrowly losing Missouri and Indiana. These states total 353 electoral votes. Our official projection, which looks at these outcomes probabilistically — for instance, assigns North Carolina’s 15 electoral votes to Obama 59 percent of the time — comes up with an incrementally more conservative projection of 348.6 electoral votes.
We also project Obama to win the popular vote by 6.1 points; his lead is slightly larger than that in the polls now, but our model accounts for the fact that candidates with large leads in the polls typically underperform their numbers by a small margin on Election Day.”
I saw Kareem in there. It reminded me of his occasional blog at the L.A. Times and at his own site. It’s a little sports heavy at the moment but he hits on social topics regularly as well. He’s a terrific writer. http://kareemabduljabbar.com/blog/
I’ve been a long time reader of both your blog and Heather’s and I’ve never felt compelled to reply to anything like I have for this video. It gave me goosebumps (the good kind!)
I have done my patriotic and voted. This has been an exciting election year, the most exciting for me since I have been old enough to vote. We need Obama!
I’m Canadian and I have to say that we are actively watching the returns up here in the North.
Here’s hoping that Obama brings a wave of change and hope as the video suggests. I believe he will. If I could place a vote…it would be Obama.
He inspires.
So much interest in this election around the world.
I get asked about it all the time here in Asia. I was in Japan in Sept and got asked about Obama and what I thought of him.
I am thinking that this Obama win will help build up our image around the world.
There is just something about Obama people are able to put their finger on.
I love voting in person. It makes me feel all patriotic and stuff.
P.S. Chuck with his “Obama” treat tiara is my new desktop wallpaper!
done. it’s never felt so good or so important.

This was the first time I’ve ever gotten up early to go vote before work (and made it in for my 9am meeting, too). I was so excited. No more W! Woot!
@J Bo: That’s my new wallpaper, too.

Do you know who gets credit for putting that video together? It actually brought tears to my eyes.
that video is truly inspiring… made my vote about a month ago via absentee and i’ve never felt better about the future of America
What an amazing video! I’m a Canuck, but if I could vote, I’d be casting my ballot for Obama. I hope for a better America, too.

This song makes me weep with inspiration every time I see it.
That man can drop some mean prose.

I wouldn’t be me unless I dissented. Good luck. To us all.

Hey Ms. Canuck, I voted for Obama today. I’ll be visiting your fine country for a few days starting tomorrow night.
