Final Fall Shot II: This Time It’s for Real
November 12th, 2008I love movie titles with “Final” in them. They invariably have sequels where the very notion of the definition of the word “Final” is called into question. There is a rather famous video game with the word final in it and about a dozen sequels.
In the digital age, the notion of a final cut is even called into play as directors re-cut their masterpieces, sometimes multiple times over the years. How many versions of Blade Runner or Star Wars can their be?
Anyway. Fall! Colors!

I think fall is becoming my favorite season. Wonder fall color! And I like the green sky, too.
And how many final concert tours has Cher done?

There are a dozen direct sequels (only one of which is a continuation of the plot of its predecessor), but we mustn’t neglect the side-series in the franchise. Three strategy-based games, a run of three terrible games on the Game Boy brick, Chocobo Racing, Mystic Quest (which is widely regarded as the worst game in the franchise), the cute gimmicky DS one, and those are just off the top of my head.
I’m curious as to why your sky is always green.
I think ‘final’ is like ‘farewell tour’ and ‘retirement’…you never know when it’s gonna stick.
@Dave Vogt, don’t take the sky literally. I process for a mood, not a newspaper. Are you familiar with cross-processing?
@blurb I am now, on at least a wikipedia level. It sounds neat. I’ve meant (for years) to put in some time and learn more about photography, but you know how these self-improvement projects sometimes go.
And then there are those “Going out of business sales” that last for months and months and months……..
Totally agree with @brebolivar on your healthcare tweet. Fingers crossed that Obama will follow through on his universal healthcare legislation sooner than later.
@southerngirl I just wish he would go a little further with his ‘universal’ health care plan…let’s also hope he chooses david cutler to lead him there!
