Thrilled!

November 19th, 2008

And slightly terrified. I’ve heard that one kid to two kids is an easier transition than no baby to one baby. But I’ve also heard the other way.

We’re gonna need a bigger boat. o

  2. wumples says:

hurrah! very exciting for you guys – congrats! :D Can’t wait for the blog posts about Fawnzette. :p (Obviously, Fawnzelle has been used before!)

Ooooh! OOH! If it’s a boy, you could call him “The Fawnz.”

Coming out of lurker status to give you a great big congratulations. What a blessing.

I’ve heard the whole transition “from none to one, from one to two” talk. I can’t remember. I had five and it’s all a blur to me now.

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!

I just left a note over on Dooce, but I wanted to tell you directly too (and hopefully you’d actually read it since there were already over 1,000 comments over there) a HUGE congrats.

I just knew something was up…Heather’s been pretty quiet, wearing big sweaters, lol, and thinking all liberal (HA,HA). Seriously, you sort of gave it away when you said you guys were drinking sparkling grape juice or something on election night.

Anyway, here’s hoping for a very safe pregnancy, a wonderfully healthy baby and great stories along the way. You guys more than deserve this time to be completely and utterly normal.

Oh, and the darker hair gave it away too. I did that with my pregnancies because I didn’t want to dye while pregnant. LOL

I can’t wait for Dooce pregnancy stories again!!!!

    Love to you all.

    What wonderful news! Congratulations, Jon!

Congrats. Put me in the 1 to 2 was worse camp. I had prepared myself mentally for number one coming up with all kinds of worst case scenarios, that when he actually got there it was more than okay.

I was overconfident for number two and any vestige of personal time you had to recover (remember no matter how frustrating the one is, you can still pass them off to the other parent for a little me time now and again) was thusly removed. Love them both, just… wow.

  8. helenclark says:

I am so happy for you and Heather. Makes me tear up. Please tell her congratulations.

  9. ChrisClark says:

Congrats. As I said over on dooce.com, this is absotively, posolutely fantabulous news. I’m sure the transition to two will be an interesting one, but I’m sure you’ll all do fine.

  10. aaryn b. says:

Um, so, let me get this straight: You mean to tell us that you guys have actually been having sex???

    Congratulations and best of luck!

  11. southerngirl says:

Congrats, ya’ll. Can’t wait to take this new journey with you guys!

  12. tllehr says:

    Congrats :D

Is it okay to cry at a complete stranger’s good news? Gah, I feel like I know you anyway, so congratulations!

  15. Bec says:

This news brought tears to my eyes. Congratulations to you and your family.

My kids are 5 years apart. Never in the three years of trying to get pregnant a second time did I imagine that 5 years would be just perfect for me, but it is. As a stay-at-home mom I got 5 years home alone with my daughter. Then when it was my sons turn, we got our time alone. J was old enough to understand the demands of her new brother, not that she liked it, but she dealt with it. You will be amazed at how much you forgot about babies when the new one arrives.

Here’s hoping for an easy pregnancy and delivery.

Congrats! Also congrats to Salt Lake City, where updated vote tallies show that President-elect Barack Obama beat Republican John McCain in Salt Lake County by 296 votes, less than one-tenth of a percent. It’s a minor win statistically, but a major step politically.

Oh, Jon! Heather! Leta! I’m waaaay too excited for you guys. Abnormally proud, too. It’s going to be AWESOME.

Huge sigh of relief. Another vote for the “Second-one is easier camp…”

Food costs, etc. are quickly absorbed into the budget; in reality you really don’t notice that much of an increase. Leta on the other hand, it could go either way. That’s where the real challenges lie. :)

  19. Victoria says:

    Many congratulations !

  20. Melanie says:

    Hey! Nice shot, Jon! :)

I’ll agree completely with Bec above – mine are 5 years apart, and it’s wonderful. My daughter got to be the only until she was ready for full-time school… then the little guy came along.

    Comhgáirdeas to the Armstrong Clan!

  21. Alison says:

I’m glad I have two kids and not one. You’re going to be fine. And congratulations!

  22. DrKoob says:

Congrats to you. As a long-time parent I can tell you that as I remember, 2 was easier than 1.

I hope the baby is healthy, happy and a BOY! Gotta even out the family!

  23. bellacantare says:

This is wonderful news! Congrats to you both. I think the internet is thrilled for you.

  24. Le Fiffre says:

    Yea Daddy-O!

High fives all around. I’m looking forward to the wry blogs sure to ensue. As others have noted, the sibling dynamics are gonna make good watching.

  25. bouncy czech says:

Congratulations you guys! I am so happy for you.
